First thought myself, fucking can't stand the movie. The book was much sadder, and the ending much better, the movie was not only beholden to the books only in name it was also just overall a bad movie. Probably my biggest book to movie disappointment.

#4 is a crime and im suprised the gas station staff didnt jump on his ass, ive been yelled at by multiple gas station attendants when filling a yellow can (yellow for diesel, red for gas) because they didn't realised there was multiple colors.

https://youtu.be/dR-wA4SmbO4 goalie got his throat cut on the ice, survived after losing 1/3 of his blood, this also happened to a Florida Panthers player in 03 i believe, though his wasn't as gruesome because he was able to make it off the ice quicker.
