When I was young, I spent hours watching adults live their lives on TV, thinking that's the way my life would be too. I found out life is not like what we see on TV.
I doubt I'm the only one who thought my life would be like what I saw on the small screen. Did a fictional show or situation give you a false expectation of the future?
Maybe you thought you could spend hours in a coffee shop in the middle of the day, and no one would ever say anything about it, like on Friends.
Or maybe you expected to become besties with your co-workers and have them over every night, like on The Big Bang Theory.
You may have become a surgeon in the hopes that you'd find your own personal McDreamy, like on Grey's Anatomy, only to realize surgery leaves you no time for romance.
Or perhaps you had hopes of finding your own diner owner/future soulmate like Lorelai did in Gilmore Girls.
Whatever the case, TV gave all of us unrealistic expectations for our adult life. Tell us what TV shows or fictional situations gave you false expectations for your future. You could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post!
