In it, she accused Odell Beckham Jr. of scrolling through Instagram instead of talking to her or thinking of her as a sexual object.
People were confused and needed clarification:
To be clear, Lena Dunham, a woman who fights against the objectification of women, is upset that she wasn't a victim of objectification. Oh.

Others started questioning the definition of Feminism:

But mostly, people were just surprised that this whole thing came from a silent conversation:
Lena Dunham is feeling victimized about an imaginary conversation she had in her head with a man who was simply minding his own business.

Someone pointed out the hypocrisy:

Maybe Lena should focus less on blaming Beckham Jr. for his non-response?
Is it possible that Lena Dunham is so fascinated by Lena Dunham that she cannot fathom anyone who may not also be fascinated by Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham yesterday: "I'm a feminist! Stop objectifying women!" Lena Dunham today: "Odell Beckham is a sexist! He didn't objectify me!"
She then attempted to clarify her comments by tweeting:
.@OBJ_3 is talented, stylish, seems super awesome and wasn't into chatting with me at a fancy party.
My story about him was clearly (to me) about my own insecurities as an average-bodied woman at a table of supermodels & athletes.
It's not an assumption about who he is or an expectation of sexual attention. It's my sense of humor, which has kept me alive for 30 years.
Glad the outrage machine roars on though, right @amyschumer?
ps I'll try and dance myself onto @michaelb4jordan if I have the chance, even when I'm a married grandma. I'm a red blooded str8 woman!
In the end, people were questioning the definition of feminism and who can be considered icons. Is there such thing as bad feminism? These conversations are important.
Man I really wish we could let go of this idea that women like Amy Schumer, Lena Dunham, and Jennifer Lawrence are "feminist icons"
