How To Get Rid Of Extra Calories You Take In On Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving comes as a time of feasts and celebrations for people celebrating the occasion. People are seen decorating their homes and preparing great meal for their family and visitors. While we celebrate we forget to keep a count of the calories we consume. Many health conscious people also indulge themselves in the delights to such an extent that they do not even notice when the calorie count goes up the average requirement of 2000 calories per day.

From roasted Turkey to the baked pie, a normal thanksgiving meal may add up to 4000 calories and a minimum of 2000, for those how keep their hands a bit tight on the food. Imagine you have this meal thrice a day? Not so healthy now is it?

Consuming over 2000 calories a day is not considered as a good eating habit, but not every day is thanksgiving, right? So what if we go out of our routine diet plan, if we have any, and consume those extra calories? Well first of all, all of us do not have a diet plan. Most of the people decide what to eat as they walk by cafes or restaurants on their way to or way back from their offices or colleges. They, on an average, consume enough junk food to put them on the radar for obesity, diabetes and heart diseases caused by excessive intake of calories. Secondly, those who follow a diet plan are mostly doing it under unfortunate medical circumstances. But then there are others, very few, who actually care for what they eat, and have a moderate approach to their food. If you are in either category you must go easy on the food you eat this thanksgiving. That too would count for over 3000 calories eaten daily.

Well when there's excess of anything there are ways to balance it off. In this case, you can balance off the calories you consume by exercising. If you are planning to have a moderate diet this thanksgiving, that would include, 6 ounce of turkey, half cup stuffing, rolls with butter, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce and a delicious pumpkin pie as dessert. You must also plan how much you should exercise to get rid of the extra calories.

It's funny how we don't realize that a meal that won't last 25 minutes, once we start eating, gives us enough calories that take 148 minutes for us to burn. So if you already have bad eating habits or are bound to eat healthy due to medical conditions, make sure you try to balance what you eat.
