Wai have we waited this long?

OK, so it’s been a while since big daddy banned Maggi noodles in India.

BuzzFeed India

The ban made us do crazy shit, like dressing our children up as Maggi, and paying a hundred bucks for a pack. Withdrawal symptoms, if you will.

Eventually, most of us acceded that perhaps Maggi noodles isn’t coming back anytime soon, and started looking for love in other places.

A few of us gave in and embraced good old Top Ramen, although the clear winner seems to be Yippee Noodles. Some extremely hipster hipsters even tried Knorr Instant Noodles or something.

But PEOPLE! Can we stop this madness for a second and please talk about the perfection that is Wai Wai instant noodles?

ICYDK, Wai Wai is a brand of instant noodles, which has been around in India since the early 90s.

Here's all you need to know: Wai Wai noodles are GOD. DAMN. DELICIOUS.

In fact, I'm going out on a limb and proclaiming that Wai Wai was always wayyyy better than Maggi anyway.

Wai Wai comes with a tastemaker similar to other instant noodles, but it also has sachets of onion oil and chilli powder for EXTRA SPICE AND VARIETY.

Here’s the real kicker: You can obviously cook it real quick, but you can also STUFF IT RIGHT INTO YOUR MOUTH.

The noodles are pre-cooked and flavoured before packaging, so you can eat it straight from the freakin' pack, people. Screw utensils.

You could basically have Wai Wai right out the pack, cooked classic instant noodle style, in the form of a soupy broth or HOWEVER THE HELL YOU FEEL LIKE.

Wai Wai noodles have been here forever. Being amazing. Being tastier. Wanting to satisfy you. Silently waiting for a moment like this.

A moment where Wai Wai can rise out of Maggi's gigantic shadow and say, “Hey. I have more condiments and overall taste.”

So let's get off our Maggi horse for a bit and love Wai Wai the way it has always loved us – unconditionally.
