1. Banana Chips

Why buy them at the store when you can make your own? Slice bananas, fry them in medium hot oil 'til the bubbles disappear, drain the excess oil with paper towels, and ta-da! Now pat yourself on the back.

2. Jhaal Muri

Mix puffed rice, onion, sprouted chana, cucumber, tomato, green chillies, peanuts, and coriander leaves in a large bowl. Add mustard oil and masala and toss the mixture again for a spicy snack from Bengal.

3. Masala Papad

Mix finely chopped onions, tomatoes, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala powder, and salt. Fry the papad in shallow oil until crisp. Spread the topping on the papad, and silently whisper "Goodbye, pizza" to yourself.

4. Paratha Samosas

Mix flour, salt, oil, and water as required to prepare the dough. Roll out the dough and fill it with samosa filling. Pull the edges over the centre to make a thick patty. Fry them 'til they're light brown on both sides, and serve hot and crispy.


5. Aloo Kurkure

Make round balls out of a well-tossed mix of mashed potatoes, chopped mint leaves, green chillies, cumin seeds powder, lemon juice, and salt. Dip them in flour paste, roll them in some uncooked poha and deep-fry until golden brown.

Mix half a cup of whole wheat flour with a quarter cup of ghee. Microwave on high for two minutes, while stirring every minute. Finally, add sugar, cardamom, and ¾ of a cup of water and put it back in the oven for a couple of minutes.

Mix a cup of grated carrots with some cheese spread, tomato ketchup, and finely chopped celery. Spread evenly on bread (with the sides sliced) and carefully roll one end over the other. Serve immediately for a delightfully nutritious nibble.

Melt butter and oil in a large saucepan, add in the corn seeds along with your favourite spices, and mix well. Cover it with a lid and let it pop on a medium low flame. And that's how you pimp your popcorn.


9. Mango Lassi

You could actually do this with a variety of fruits, including bananas or cherries. Blend two cups of chopped mangoes (add sugar or honey if you like), then add two cups of chilled curd and blend again. And... that's about it. Go watch some TV or something.

10. Bread Pakora

Mix a cup of besan, baking powder, and a pinch of ajwain, red chilli powder, and garam masala powder. Dip the bread in a batter prepared with half a teaspoon of oil and water as required. Fry in medium hot oil. Serve when crisp and golden brown.

11. Aloo Paneer Chaat

Deep-fry paneer and potatoes separately. Sauté some green chillies and ginger-garlic paste with a teaspoon of oil over a medium flame. Mix them together, add green peas, lemon juice, and chaat masala. Cook for two minutes on a medium flame.
