15 Spring 2020 Fashion Trends You'll Want To Wear Through The Year

They'll fit right in with your new homebody personality and online social life!

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. MILITARY-INSPIRED FASHION

Military-inspired wear like cargo pants, utility jackets and shirts with big pockets will trend through the rest of 2020. Military green is the most popular, though slate, khaki, charcoal and other shades from this palette work well too. Camouflage prints are also going strong.

    2. TIE-DYE

Tie-dye is extremely popular right now, especially these unisex hoodies we see all over TikTok.

If you want to channel the tie-dye trend in Indian-wear, here are some fantastic options.

Tie-dye Kurtas - from ₹399 (Styles and colours available)

MS bandhini skirt - ₹599 (Colours available)

    3. HIGHLIGHTER NEONS

Highlighter neon yellow is trending right now. Wear it head to toe, or pair it with neutrals like black, white, grey and beige. In the same vein, you can also wear other fluorescent highlighter shades like green, orange and pink.

    4. THE YEAR OF THE RAT

2020 is the Year of the Rat, so cartoon rat or mouse themed T-shirts (think: Mickey, Minnie, Jerry) are having a moment.

    5. BRALETTES AS TOPS

No one is wearing structured bras anymore, but comfortable bralettes are very in. Wear lacy or sporty styles instead of tops as loungewear, and toss on a jacket and a high waisted bottom if you're planning to step out. Go for one with more support if you're planning to work out in it.

    6. MONOCHROME

Monochrome aka single colour "matching matching" fashion is tremendous this spring! You can channel this trend by matching the colour of your shirt to your shorts or trousers (e.g., both blue, or both black, etc.) or matching your sweater or blazer to the top underneath. Bonus points if you match shoes, belt, and other accessories too! And even more bonus points if you can do this with bright, trending colours!

Anyone spending a lot of time at home these days will appreciate these chic, matching tracksuits:

    Lava Creation Women's Cotton Tracksuit - ₹785

    PROSPO Chicago Men's Tracksuit - ₹999

    7. POLKA AND SPOTTED PRINTS

Playful polka dots are a classic print, but they're even more fashionable now, especially medium-sized or large polka dot blouses, tops, dresses, socks and accessories.

Pair polka print items with neutral pieces to make them stand out even more.

    8. HOT PINKS AND PURPLES

Pink is my favourite colour (practically a neutral if you ask me!) and it's trending very hard right now! Bright shades of fuchsia and hot pink are the most popular, but millennial pink is also here to stay.

Deeper purples (think the colour of baingan), a fall trend, continues through 2020. Summer goths will stan!

Millennial purple (a shade of lilac or lavender) has emerged with millennial pink as a new classic.

    9. DARK, MOODY FLORALS

Floral prints against dark colours are trending to remind us that it's spring and flowers are blooming even in these times.

    10. ASYMMETRIC NECKLINES

Asymmetric necklines will add some flair to your outfit, especially over video party calls with friends, family or for work.

    11. BLACK AND WHITE

The head-to-toe black-and-white trend has been featured on runways in several designers' collections for Spring-Summer 2020. This combination is a classic one, that's easy to pull off. Get a striped, chequered or colour blocked T-shirt. Pair with black or white bottoms and shoes for a head to toe black-and-white look.

    12. RAINBOW AND SHERBET

Bright rainbow and sherbet colours are trending. The best way to wear this trend is in one bold, multicolour dress or shirt. If this is too maximalist for you, you can give this trend a nod through smaller motifs and piping.

    13. PUFFED SLEEVES

Puffed sleeves for blouses and dresses are going to trend through the rest of 2020. The sleeve length ranges from mid to long and depending on your personal style, you can go for a subtle or dramatic puff.

    14. MIDI SKIRTS

Continuing from fall, midi skirts (and dresses) are trending through the rest of 2020. Choose mid-waist, light to medium flare styles in your favourite colours, prints and textures.

    15. SLIPS

Similar to the bralette trend, slips have gained popularity as loungewear and even slip dresses have made a comeback. Get slip tops and longer slips in satin and silk to wear at home. If you don't like these materials, cotton camis with lace detailing and prints are also a good idea.
