This article is extremely misleading.
1) You can put a potato up on eBay for $1000, but that doesn’t mean it’s the price it goes for.
2) Many of the examples above are in original boxes, and probably sealed, which can DRASTICALLY affect the price. The toys that you played with as a kid, even if you kept them, are not necessarily in a condition that’s valuable.
3) A couple of the examples (GI Joe and Transformers) appear to be in AFA cases. AFA is a third party company that grades toys and assures the quality, then sealing them in a plastic case. Unless you get toys from deadstock or storage, they are probably not going to grade high enough to warrant this kind of price tag.
