Stephen Colbert's Tribute To Jon Stewart Was The Best Bit Of Last Night's "Daily Show"

"You are a great artist and a good man."

Jon Stewart's final Daily Show featured many cameos from notable correspondents from the show, and it ended with a surprise appearance by Stephen Colbert.

Colbert, a former Daily Show correspondent who used to follow Stewart's show with The Colbert Report and is soon to take over Letterman's slot on CBS with The Late Show, quipped, "Is there a party or anything? I brought a lot of people from CBS, and I told them that I know you."

When the scripted jokes came to an end and Stewart introduced an ad break, Colbert kept talking.

He then said, "Jon, I have been asked and have the privilege to say something that is not in the prompter right now."

You could see Stewart squirming, even trying to wheel away from Colbert, not knowing that this was planned but somehow knowing what was coming next.
