Here’s Why Carolyn From “Killing Eve” Actually Deserves More Appreciation

She steals practically every scene in this show. (This point contains spoilers.)

There's a hell of a lot of love for both Jodie Comer (Villanelle) and Sandra Oh (Eve) in BBC America's smash hit drama Killing Eve at the moment.

But can we take some time to appreciate Fiona Shaw's Carolyn Martens, who employed Eve at the start of the series to track down Villanelle?

For example, she’s expertly skilled at delivering both good and bad news.

I admire how she just gets straight to the point.

She doesn’t allow emotions to get the better of other people either, as evidenced by this advice she gave Eve when she showed up at her house unannounced.

She says so much by saying so little.

And even though what she does say is direct, she always takes the time to highlight some of the most important details.

I admire how professional she always tries to be.

Meeting up outside MI6 to talk about confidential information can be a very difficult and dangerous thing to do. Carolyn, ever the professional, does this like a pro.

And can we take the time to appreciate how many of her scenes appear to be food-related?

    Or drink-related?

Really, it's about half her scenes.

God love you, Carolyn. If only you were in Killing Eve just that little bit more.
