Mark Zuckerberg -- in an awkward announcement that included a long story about his girlfriend -- announced that Facebook will now allow you get a Facebook.com email address, plus track a bunch of other ways to communicate, like IM and text. Zuckerberg says it's "not email," but it is, and then some. Your vanity name on Facebook will become your email address, which sucks if you weren't able to get one for your name.
Good luck, everyone!
Taking all your different modes of communication and rolling them into one seems like a good idea on the surface. But in practice? Do you want a lengthy email from an old friend turning into a huge text message?
I mostly like old, unpopular things, like from 2002. I'm also 102 years old.
