Collaborations with celebrities are a no brainer for brands, providing they can afford them of course. They add an extra level to the company, bring credibility where it’s due and drives sales- particularly if the celebrity has a following. Last year we saw the likes of Mac and Mariah Carey joining forces, as well as A$AP Rocky and Guess amongst others. We’re on the third month of 2017 and we already have some pretty great collabs. Estee Lauder

Victoria Beckham’s sell-out Estée Lauder make-up collection is back for a second run with some new products as well as some cult comebacks. Here she talks Vogue online beauty editor Lisa Niven through the creation process, and explains why Nude Spice was the perfect name for her favourite new lipstick.

“I want to make women feel empowered, to feel sexy and confident. This makeup collection does that. I love to make women feel like the best version of themselves.” Victoria Beckham.

In 2016, Victoria Beckham collaborated with beauty brand Estee Lauder on a collection of makeup that set all Beauty Editors, Bloggers and Lovers’ hearts aflutter. It was a sell out, naturally, and they have partnered up now on a new range for 2017. We will see a few old favourites amongst the collection, and two completely new products will be launching. A new bronzer, Saffron Sun, joins the sell-out Java Sun shade from the first collection, and a nude lipstick cleverly named Nude Spice (because remember, Victoria was Posh way before she was a designer!) that is a matt take on the classic neutral lip hue ‘Beckham’ from the previous collection.

“It’s a little tongue-in-cheek nod to my days as Posh Spice of course, but it’s also tied in to the theme of the whole collection – these rich and sumptuous spice-inspired shades of amber and saffron,” she said. “I think there are some beauty ‘looks’ that people associate with me – a smoky eye, a pale lip – so it was important that we spent time fine-tuning until we had an authentic-feeling product. I spend a lot of time with my customers in my stores and at events all over the world, and I really do listen to them. I have always taken on board what they want from their clothes, and now I am also learning what they want from their beauty products. After the launch of the first collection, we noted that some women would like to see a lighter, more golden shade of bronzer. So with this bring-back collection, we’ve added a new bronzer in Saffron Sun, which is really pretty.”

British singer Ellie Goulding is one of the few stars to compose their own songs and also perform perfectly on instruments such as guitar, drums and keyboard. She raced to the top of the charts with her contribution to the soundtrack of the blockbuster “50 Shades of Grey” and has been one of the most successful British solo artists in the past decade. And that’s exactly why German shoe brand DEICHMANN have paired up with her on a new collection of shoes.

“For me, shoes are an indication of what mood you are in. Launching a collection of my own gives me the opportunity to express my style. My collection includes shoes for any occasion – I really can’t decide if I like wearing heels or flats better – I am constantly changing it up “, says Ellie Goulding.

Perfect for both the day or the night, there are daring statement rose gold brogues and black glittery trainers for those that like to make an impression, and a softer palette of pastels for those that want to wear the look in a more subtle way. All of the shoes are ideal for a wide variety of occasions, from parties to events and will suit a range of outfits both formal and informal. In short, you will love this collection and we have something for everyone.


Puma / Via

Rihanna is in her second year now as Creative Director for Puma and her Spring Summer 17 collection has already whipped the fash pack up into a frenzy. The tagline ‘Sexy is powerful, expressive and opulent’ is emblazoned on the Puma website and the shoes are a true reflection of that. Chanelling major sports luxe vibes, the athletic designs of sneakers and slides have been given a thoroughly modern, and somewhat feminine twist.

Apparently one of the key influences in this collection is the romance and grandeur of 18th century France and includes luxurious fabrics, unexpected trims, intricate lace, fine pleating, playful bows, Puma cats and piercing zip pullers. They are definite stand out pieces, and not one for the shy. The slider and sneaker styles have been constructed of smooth satin and rubber and the colour way is either ‘Bubblegum Pink’ or ‘Olive Green’.

The nineties trend is still going strong! From remastered movies, reboots of franchises and reworked film scripts, anyone who is anyone is jumping on the 90s bandwagon. And no industry jumps on a trend quite like the fashion industry. High street champion Gap are channelling the era in a big way and have drafted in a 90s icon, plus the kids of 90s icons in their latest campaign.

To mark the relaunch of key archival pieces, the imagery and videos features Lizzy Jagger (daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall) Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore), Coco Gordon Moore (daughter of Kim Gordon) TJ Mizell (Jam Master Jay’s son) Chelsea Tyler (Steve Tyler’s daughter) and Evan Ross (son of Diana Ross). They are lead by one of the ultimate 90s icon, supermodel Naomi Campbell.

In a direct recreation of her Steven Meisel-shot 1992 ad, Naomi wears the reissued pocket tee, describing the experience as “an honour,” Other pieces include body suits, cropped jackets and easy-fit jeans. Cool, casual, chic, vintage!


Chrome Hearts

Chrome Hearts originally began as a controversial yet stylish accessories brand. Tongue in cheek slogans were used across the brand, and it soon developed a cult following, particularly in the urban areas the brand was sold. So it was inevitably they’d pair up with a celebrity with just as much cool status. The Hadid sisters have been dominating the fashion, and celebrity scene for the past few years and have been plastered all around social media, by themselves and their fans! Chrome Hearts had a somewhat tie with Bella before the campaign, as she is best friends with singer Jesse Jo Stark, whose mum happens to own Chrome Hearts.

“I am very excited about this collection as it’s everything I want to be wearing right now. I pulled a lot of inspiration from Warhol muses and the New York art scene of the 1960s and juxtaposed it with a bit of edge,” said Bella Hadid.

Bella threw an exclusive launch party for her line at the Chrome Hearts Paris store during Paris Fashion week. The range includes leather caps with sterling silver link edging, black cashmere cardigans trimmed in pink fur, and liquid leather mini skirts. Outerwear options will include oversize puffer parkas, slim bondage-style coats, and suede fringe jackets. Chokers and belts emblazoned with Bella’s name will be part of the collection too. Plus, a couple of baby tees, hoodies, beanies, and tank dresses. In short, it’s like a dip into Hadid’s own wardrobe- so insta-worthy!
