    WINGS ALBUM REVIEW

방탄소년단 aka BTS(Bangtan Boys), the biggest upcoming group sensation of k-pop have just released their second full album "WINGS", released on October 6th WINGS has already dominated charts not only in South Korea but across the globe including, reaching the 26th spot on the US Billboard charts, getting the #1 spot on iTunes album charts and the pride of being the first South Korean boy group to make it into the official UK charts.

Based on the book Demian, WINGS is an exploration of youth and temptation, In each song you can hear how it echo’s the themes in the books.

The title song “Blood, Sweat and Tears” talks about the battle between working hard and falling for temptation, with an influence from reggae, moonbahton and trap music you can see why “Blood, Sweat and Tears just makes you want to get up and dance.

The leader of the group, Rap Monster explained the idea behind the album saying, “The harder a temptation is to resist, the more you think about it and vacillate. That uncertainty is part of the process of growing” he also stated “Blood, Sweat and Tears is a song that shows how one thinks, chooses and grows.” These concepts are brilliant as young people are always captivated by music that they can relate to and they allow themselves to be put into the same mind as the artists just by listening to the tracks.

This album isn’t only special because of the captivating concept or the fact that each member helped write and produce a large portion of the album but because each member of Bangtan has their own solo track within WINGS, each solo song shows the different styles and struggles of the individual members. With some tracks being upbeat and light to listen to others are deep and emotionally enchanting it shows the amount of diversity and range the 7 piece group has to offer.
