31 Things That’ll Help Save You A Little Time In The Mornings

"Time is money, money is power, power is pizza, and pizza is knowledge, let’s go." —April Ludgate in reference to this list, of course.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. An space-saving over-the-door closet rod so you can easily plan out your outfits the night before instead of dumping out your entire closet in a running-late-induced frenzy. Your future self will thank you for not making a mess.

Promising review: "This product is fantastic! You know how when you wear a shirt or pair of pants to an office job, and it just seems like a 'waste' to wash after one wear? The clothes then don't get put away because 'they've been worn,' but then they end up on the floor or 'the chair.' This product fixed that issue for me. I can pick out what I want to wear for the week and line everything up. It's easier than picking things out of the closet each morning (it's so nice to have my pre-selected clothes at the ready), and better than the floor or the chair — things are actually hung up and stay wrinkle-free! I can fit several shirts, pairs of pants, leggings, cardigans, etc. and don't need to rummage through the whole closet or make noise opening dresser drawers. Definitely a game changer!" —Stephanie L.

Get it from Amazon for $9.89+ (available in two colors).

If you'd prefer a standalone rack, this one is a great option.

    2. A redness-masking, dark-spot, and skin-tone-evening Maybelline BB cream with SPF 30 or Black Radiance BB cream with SPF 15, which is all you could really ask for if you're looking for a one-step-and-done sorta makeup deal. Who are we kidding? That's probably *exactly* what we need.

Mike Hawkins / Via, Sparkle the Survivor / Via

Promising review (for Maybelline/the photo on the left): "Great lightweight coverage. Probably the only face stuff I've purchased over and over. I wear it daily while doing just about anything. In my photo, you can see how it covers imperfections slightly, which I like, because it is more of a natural look compared to heavy coverage. That photo is also post sweaty workout and it held up nicely. I have an olive Mediterranean skin tone and purchased in medium/deep. Great dewy, natural look. I hope this helps!" —Mike Hawkins

Get them from Amazon: Maybelline for $7.20+ (available in three shades) and Black Radiance for $2.84+ (available in four shades)

    3. On my laziest days, I personally swear by an illuminating primer like VDL Lumilayer Primer by itself (or quickly mixed in and slapped on with my fave BB cream) for a lil' face pick-me-up. And I hear it's also one of Korea's best-selling primers — and for damn good reason! Its pearlescent formula leaves your skin looking slightly brighter, dewier, and glass-skin-like.

    @vdlus / Via

And also less like I only got five hours of sleep...every night for the past week. According to the Ulta product description, the primer has VDL's "~trademark Lumilayer Prismatic Pearls~ that absorb light and use the light's ability to reflect to create an iridescent glow and translucent, glass-like skin."

Promising review: "I have combo/oily skin so finding a decent primer is impossible for me; it needs to hydrate, hold my foundation in place ALL DAY, and brighten my complexion. Not even luxury primers can do what this product does; I cannot recommend it enough!!! Go buy it!" —Cou

Get it from Ulta for $16 (originally $32).

    4. Or an one-step Stila color correcting primer you can also wear on its own, especially if your skin looks a little angry upon waking up.

Stila Cosmetics, Grace Rausch / Via

Promising review (for the right photo): "I originally purchased this product to use as a makeup primer and was happy with the results — it wasn't until a recent vacation that I realized what all it was doing besides just priming. I spent most of my time on the beach and had bought oil-free sunscreen that was supposed to be formulated for your face — while it wasn't oily, it also didn't provide any protection from the sun. My face got very burnt, complete with sunglasses tan lines. Not having all of my usual beauty products, I decided to apply some of the One Step Correct before bed. I couldn't believe what I saw in the mirror in the morning. The burn was gone and I didn't have any of the peeling that I usually get after a sunburn." —Grace Rausch

Get it from Amazon for $36.

    5. A press 'n' go iced tea tumbler for whipping up a delicious and generous portion of iced tea in just a few minutes, with the help of your favorite loose leaf tea or tea bag, of course. Then just grab 'n' go! Gotta stay hydrated, even if you're running late!

You just add hot water and loose-leaf tea or a tea bag to the outer chamber, let it steep, then fill the inner chamber with ice, and press it down into outer chamber. And voila, sip away! The stainless-steel filter keeps tea leaves out of your drink, and the tumbler itself is dishwasher-safe, BPA-free, leak-proof, and odor-, stain-, and taste-resistant. The flip-top lid also features a built-in carry loop, so you can attach it to a bag loop if that makes things easier for ya.

Promising review: "This was so easy to use. It makes a perfect serving of iced tea. So far I've only used fruit-flavored teabags to make a refreshing cup of ice tea. I'm going to purchase another one to keep at work." —BklyninFL

Get it from BuzzFeed's Goodful line, exclusively at Macy's for $28.99 (also available in teal).

    6. A programmable coffee machine, so you can **really** wake up with a proper, pipin' hot cup of joe after you initially get out of bed — honestly, it'll give you a big incentive to do, because you don't want your coffee to get cold, now do you?? It's also 2-in-1, so you can brew it straight into your travel mug (not included) to grab 'n' enjoy on your commute.

It also comes with a 12-cup glass carafe if you need LOTS for the whole fambam, and for all portions, you can set the programmable clock and timer up to 24 hours in advance!

Promising review: "This has got to be one of the best coffee pots I have ever used or seen. I love that it is a two-in-one. It makes full pots as well as single cup, mug, and travel mug portions. I also love that it has a clock that allows you to set the time you want it to turn on and make your morning coffee so that it is waiting for you when you get up. It is also pretty intuitive in how it all works, making it easy for someone like me to use all the neat features. I have not had it long enough to say it is going to be a winner in the survival race, but that would not surprise me either since it is so near perfect in every other way." —The Wanderer

Get it from Amazon for $54.99.

    7. Fresh-smelling Batiste dry shampoo for non-greasy, touchable, and clean hair in a snap, when a shower is simply not in your morning's forecast. Just spray, work it in with your fingers or a comb, and voila! Almost as good as freshly-washed, hehe.

Deanna Christiansen / Via, BuzzFeed Reviews / Via

You can also leave it in overnight, so it fully absorbs and does its thing and you wake up looking photoshoot-ready. Just tousle/brush your hair, and you're good to go!

Promising review (for the photo on the left): "This stuff is amazing! Because I bleach my hair I can’t wash my hair as often as I’d like to. Typically I can wear my hair down two days in a row before it starts to look greasy. In the pictures above I woke up on day SEVEN. Zero grease, zero smell, and zero chalky feel." —Deanna Christiansen

Get it from Amazon for $8.29.

Now, I can comfortably lotion up after a shower without waiting forever for the moisture to soak in. Plus, my skin feels super soft all day! mrsd2608 / Via, Emanuela Davis / Via

Promising review: "I work at a bakery/cafe and at first bought these because my baby hairs tend to fly about by the end of the day, while I'm in the back baking. They keep those little flyaways tucked out of sight. I started to wear them in the cafe where I work occasionally, and every time I wear them I receive so many compliments from customers who love the way I style my hair with them." —Amazon Customer

Get a floral six-pack from Amazon for $9.99 or solid eight-pack for $11.99.

    10. Or an on-trend padded velvet headband to help your mane look like perfection, even if it's secretly a liiiiittle too greasy for your liking.

    Amazon Customer / Via

Promising review: "I have so many thoughts about this! This headband is so darling and is just what I’ve been looking for. Trang Nhan / Via

Promising review: "This thing works great. I am usually in a hurry in the morning after the gym, but I like having a good breakfast sandwich. I hate the idea of spending money at McDonalds and not knowing how healthy I'm eating. This thing works like a charm. All I suggest is to spray a shot of Pam into the egg cooker and you can even dab the excess with a paper towel. The egg slides right off if you do that. Overall I love it." —D. Brady

Get it from Amazon for $19.99.

    13. A Tile Pro finder to help you find your keys, wallet, or whatever else you absolutely cannot leave at home — but are also always losing/misplacing. Save yourself the mad scramble to find said item, and attach this slim bb for peace of mind!

    @bitebeauty / Via

Promising review: "This is one of those rare products that is better than what is promised. I get the concept of using lipstick as blush, as my mom did it, but putting that kind of oil on one's face? Not so sure. Well, I found that the texture is, well, perfect. It's not greasy at all, so it doesn't feel odd using it as a blush, but yet it stays moist and keeps my lips from drying out — AND it stays put better than most any long-wearing lipstick I've tried. I will probably order a few more in various colors. —JaeW

Get them from Sephora for $24 each (available in 19 shades).

    Kayla / Via

Promising review: "I absolutely LOVE this product. As someone who also often experiences a mad rush in the morning and hates to iron in general, I was eager to try it. With the wrinkle releaser, I lay out the shirt or hang it up, spray both sides, and smooth it out. In a few short minutes, the shirt is dry and my wrinkles gone. No more making myself late trying to rid my work blouse of a few wrinkles before heading out the door. It's been great for me on all material types including thick jeans, polyester, and silk. It also reduces static cling and the fragrance is very nice too—a fresh scent without being overpowering." —Amazon Customer

    17. A 3rd Gen Echo Dot that'll be like having your own personal assistant to give you a rundown of the day ahead of you, so you don't forget everything you need for that Very Important Pitch Meeting or that less important first date you have lined up (sorry, person — just being honest).

Promising review: "It sounds weird to say Alexa/Echo Dot changed my life, but let me tell you how it has helped. I am absentminded, and I have no sense of the passage of time. Quite often I'd forget to start dinner until 7 p.m., and since I am on a special diet, that meant eating later than optimal. I also take medication several times a day. Add to that how the day can simply get away from me, and I was feeling frustrated with myself! I had no one to blame but myself, but the blame wasn't helping! So I got a Dot. I started putting in reminders for meds, for starting dinner, and for remembering to switch the laundry to the dryer. I got more done, and it helped me not get into negative self-talk/self-recrimination for my forget-fullness. Now things flow better. I am also free of the million-zillion post-it notes and the lists that always seem to be in the wrong room. Alexa keeps all my lists and can read them to me. I set up Google calendar, let Alexa have access and now she also can remind me what events are coming up — be that doctors' appointments or social events. I wish I had tried it much sooner. I've also started to listen to audiobooks more and my imagination is soaring. Alexa is a great addition to my life and the personal assistant I needed!" —MartysReads

Get it from Amazon for $49.99.

    18. A double-ended eyeliner pen to save you the time-costing frustration of drawing — and probably removing and then redrawing — your own wings. Stamping on perfectly-shaped wings? No, this is not a dream.

    Amazon, Tanya / Via

The other side of the pen is a regular liner, so you can finish the job!

Promising review: "Let me start by saying this isn't my first cat eye rodeo. I've tried the taping method, normal liquid liner, plastic winged stamping devices, stencils, all of it! Well, this gem arrived and I immediately had to try it out, all while laughing at how terrible this would probably turn out...but to my surprise I put the left cat eye on first and it was perfect. I thought this was a fluke and did the right eye...again, it came out clean and perfect! I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN ABLE TO DO A CAT EYE IN UNDER 10 MINUTES, LET ALONE THE TWO MINUTES THIS TOOK TO DO! There were no sloppy streaks that I had to touch up or anything you would expect. Just a clean crisp line. I can now do a cat eye EVERY day and look/feel like a badass. Everyone can think I spend hours doing my makeup in the morning." —LadyMeow

Get a two-pack from Amazon for $13.97 (available in three sizes, as well as a three-piece combo set).

    19. A ~juicy~ (like, battery juice) Anker portable charger with enough juice for 3.6 charges for an iPhone 8 and 2.2 charges for an Galaxy S9*, so you don't have to wait for your iPhone to come back from the dead because you forgot to charge it overnight! It's super compact and easily fits into (deep) pockets or small purses, and easily recharges via USB ports or an outlet adapter.

I've had this since July 2018 and it's still as good as brand new! I literally love this thing so much. It's a lot less bulky than a lot of other external batteries and it saved me from my old Phone 6 that had a terrible battery — and I'm one of those people who can't stand their battery dipping below, like, 40%. I suspect I'll still get lots of use with my iPhone XR, mostly while traveling in different countries where there are different outlet situations and when I'm on my feet all day.

*Those are the most up-to-date phone models they mention in the product description.

Promising review: "Just finished a three-day bike packing ride and took two Anker Power Cores with me. I was able to keep my phone and Bluetooth speaker charged for the entire trip with one charger almost depleted and the other with three quarters of a charge left. I forgot my charge cord for my GPS but I have no doubt these chargers would have kept it topped off as well. Very satisfied with Anker products and will be ordering one more power core and an Anker foldable solar charger for my Arizona Trail ride later this year." —Brian Long

Get it from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in four colors).

    20. A Crave Naturals detangling brush to tame knots quickly, efficiently, and gently all in a few strokes, which is much preferred to tearing out parts of our manes in a fit of anger. It's designed with *cone-shaped* bristles that'll separate your hair sideways — instead of up and down — which lessens the damage on your hair. Rest easy, and get on with your day!

Pi / Via, Alayna Hagwood / Via

Promising review: "I am always skeptical of products that claim to 'glide through,' but this brush actually works! I have very thick, kinky, coily hair and this brush passes through my hair easily both wet and dry. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for a good detangling brush." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $10.77 (also available in black).

    21. A stylish neoprene Dagne Dover backpack that'll accompany you seamlessly from office to gym to everything in between, and hold all of your crap you haphazardly tossed in it — but it won't look haphazard in the least.

Get it from Shopbop for $175 (medium; available in four colors) or $195 (large; available in three colors).

    22. A teddy jacket to toss on in 0.5 seconds before you bolt out the door that'll keep you *both* very warm and hella stylish — like, are you a fashion blogger or what?

    Kevin Hawthorne / Via, Amazon

Reviewers, like the one below, suggest sizing up for that oversized blogger feel/look!

Promising review: "Y’allllll...this jacket is the most comfortable thing I have EVER worn. The ultra soft material is the same on the inside, making it feel like you’re wearing a blanket. I ordered my true-to-size (L) and it fits great — just as oversized as I expected. If you’re in between and want it oversized, size up." —Kevin Hawthorne

Get it from Amazon for $31.99 (available in sizes S–3XL and 15 styles, in both zipped and buttoned).

    23. A donut-like bun holder for sweeping your hair into a messy bun like magic, so you can go about your day lookin' polished and unbothered by hair strands blocking your view, whether you're a student or a busy, busy mom.

    Abby / Via

Promising review: "My bun has been in all day. (I wore my hood, so excuse the frizz.) I actually tossed it up while I was in the car and it took maybe 30 seconds — but I could definitely do it nicer for work. My daughter's donut is also brown, but you can’t see it through her hair. I love this pack because I wasn’t sure what size I should buy. I even like the hair elastics it came with, and it also has the right kind of bobby pins." —Abby

I have a long skincare routine and some days/nights I'll feel really lazy or not in the mood to do every single step — that's where these come in. One pad all over my face and neck, and I've done the essence and serum step all in one. It's immensely hydrating to the point I feel the plumpness and moisture hours after applying it. It's not quite sticky or tacky, just moist. It's such a refreshing feeling, and there's enough moisture in one pad to cut it in half if you want to make them last. They're great as makeup removers, a morning face cleanse if I'm in a hurry, freshen-up wipes in a pinch, and sometimes I use them as a pre-mask face wash if I'm too lazy to go actually wash my face because it takes too long and water always dribbles down my elbows like I'm some kinda chump. Anyway, these are really useful and practical." —ThePoptartFox

Get a two-pack (60 wipes total) from Amazon for $7.19+ (available in six scents/varieties).

Promising review: "I got the Sphynx to use on-the-go. There have been many times when I completely forget to shave my armpits before I go to work and let's be real, during a heatwave you want wear a tank top and air out your armpits. I just throw it in my purse and I always know it's there when needed." —Monica

Get it from Amazon for $10+ (available in six colors/patterns).

    29. A Wunder2 Wunderbrow gel for perfect, smudge-free brows with a few flicks of your wrist. How? It's made with ~hair-like fibers~ that'll define and fill your brows without lots of concentration and precision needed from you. Which means zero minutes needed to groom your brows!

    Jennifer McClendon / Via

    It's waterproof, cruelty-free, and paraben-free.

Promising review: "It takes a little getting used to. Especially if you're used to using a pencil like me. It does stay on extremely well, but what I noticed is it stays on the best where there is more hair. Due to overwaxing, my eyebrows are very sparse in the middle and that's where I always had issues with makeup staying on. This does stay on better than any other products I tried, but not like the advertisement videos where the model wipes and it stays perfectly. If I wipe where the arch of my brow is (where I have lots of hair), it stays perfectly but when I get closer to like the corners of my eyes where I have little hair I can wipe it off if I wanted. Still it makes my mornings a lot easier 'cause it stays on so well, and so I save a lot of time. I learned that every couple days I need to totally wipe it all off and start over 'cause it builds up on the hair and can get clumpy. Even my sister who NEVER does her eyebrows let me do her eyebrows and said it stayed on even after she showered. Now she wants some for her birthday! I tend to get compliments on my eyebrows but with this stuff more and more people are telling me how nice my eyebrows are and asking what I use. Definitely recommend." —juliska

Get it from Amazon for $13.20+ (available in five colors).

    30. A set of leakproof, microwavable, and reusable takeout containers so you can cook and pack your lunch for the week in advance like a Pretty Real Adult (sounds foreign to me, tbh) and save yourself the stress of figuring out what to bring the morning of — or rushing out of the office on a busy day and buying an overpriced sandwich.

    Julie Johnsen / Via, Amazon

Promising review: "I am happy with these containers and especially love how they nest inside each other for easy and compact storage. I have so many random containers that take up way too much space, and now I am giving them to Goodwill. These are perfect for leftovers from dinner that I can grab and go in the morning for taking my lunch to work.
