These Ballet-Esque Flats Are Adorable, Cheap, And Basically Already In Your Amazon Cart

Did I mention they come in 24 colors and patterns? (I'm already two down!)

Hi, Sarah here. First off, two things you need to know: 1) I'm cheap and therefore don't splurge on expensive shoes. 2) I love flats to death. (Just try and sell me on any heeled shoes — I DARE YOU.)

Bravo

Maybe one day I will ~invest~ in nice shoes, but given that I live in NYC (aka a living dumpster...and I say this in the most loving way possible) and walk almost everywhere, I'm totally okay with shoes I won't feel bad about getting dirt and debris all over.

Ever since I started writing for BuzzFeed, it's no surprise that I've become very familiar with Amazon (a true shopping beast) and its massive product selection beyond toilet paper and Clorox wipes. For example: HELLO, CUTE FLATS starting at $11.49!!!

I had my doubts, of course (buying shoes online is tricky, since 90% of the time it's a gamble whether or not they'll *actually* fit), but I went in with an open mind and I was definitely not disappointed.

So here's the story of my impulse buy:
I’m not very diligent about shoe shopping, so I tend to wear the same one or two pairs of shoes throughout a season. But when my go-to cat flats — which are ADORABLE, and I'd repurchase in a heartbeat — got holes in the bottoms (I taped them up for two months because I'm janky AF and was unwilling to part with them), I figured it might be time to buy a new pair of flats. You right now: "LOL, you don't say??"

TBH, the fact that these are available through Amazon Prime (because a day longer than two days is too long) was a main selling point but...

...I was legit surprised that these ballet-ish flats (with the “tie-up” situation I've been coveting but minus the hassle of manual wrap-arounds) ~truly~ fit the bill: They're simple yet sophisticated (aka the air I aspire to give off in life).

TL;DR: I liked them so much that I bought a second pair in burgundy. Have I ever bought two pairs of the same shoe? Nope! So it was a big deal. And when they're so affordable to begin with, it's like (*brushes shoulder off*) totally NBD.

The other major selling point? I only had to use two bandages while breaking them in! A mere two days later I was totally fine. That's a miracle, okay? Because the (literal) pain of buying shoes is the breaking-in period. WHICH IS WHY I DON'T BUY NEW SHOES VERY OFTEN. On the web = so cute! On my feet = burn them immediately! Obviously the pain will go away eventually, but I am impatient and don't want to be uncomfortable for a week (is that too much to ask for?).

Other notable factors:

1) They fit perfectly — neither too tight nor loose. No pinching anywhere and no tightness around the toes (rounded shoes > pointed shoes ALWAYS).

2) I dig the zippered back a lot because it makes the shoe very secure and devoid of any slipping-off-as-I-walk problems that I often have with other flats.

In conclusion? I went in with very low expectations — literally just buy any flats that look presentable and durable enough for everyday wear — and came out really happy with the results.

ALSO, they go with e v e r y t h i n g. Especially the black pair. Seriously, so versatile — and this is coming from someone who's bought way too many one-time-wear shoes that "just looked too cute and pretty to pass up!" *rolls eyes*

So get on it. Get a pair from Amazon for $11.49+ (available in sizes 5.5–11 and 24 styles).
