Response to Tell Us How You Said Goodbye To Your Pet:
I had Blackie for 15 years. Beginning of last year he rapidly lost weight and started sleeping a lot more and I wouldn’t allow me to touch him. So one day after work we took him to the vet. He was normally scared to ride in the car so I wrapped him up in blanket and cuddle him for the ride. He barely moved, that’s when I knew he wasn’t going to be ok. the vet told me he had a really bad kidney infection and would only last a few more weeks a least. So I decided that I didn’t want him in anymore pain. Mum and Dad burst into tears but I said he’s not himself anymore and it’s fair on him to keep in pain. They let me say my last goodbyes and cuddled him some more. Then after he was put to sleep the vet let me stay in the exam room and cradle him for another hour while I cried.
