Carnation Instant Breakfast drinks and Cheerios. In college my anxiety over my allergies was so bad that I could barely eat anything. I refused to eat anything in the dining hall anymore except my Carnation drinks and bowls of Cheerios.

I just don't understand why this revolved so heavily around the time turner when Jo said she wished she never put it in the third book at all and ended up hating the thing.

Barely. They show up here and there and have a few throw away lines but other than that aren't present in the main storyline.

Also, Halloween. Usually over half the candy we'd collect was stuff we couldn't have and we'd have to give it all away.

When you just can't make people understand your allergy and how seriously life threatening it is. So in school, people would wave PB&J sandwiches in your face and joke about how they could kill you so easily and make it look like an accident.
