We've got the data to back it up.

Thanks to data collected by Career Builder and EMSI, now we finally know. They took the 53 largest cities in America and crunched data based on four different criteria. Just like that, we know whether you will live or die when the inevitable zombie attack occurs.

Criterion 1: Defense

What makes up your city's ability to defend itself from zombie hordes? Military population, law enforcement, security, availability of small arms, and the percentage of total exports coming from each metro’s small arms manufacturing industries.

Criterion 2: Containment

When the virus comes, you don't want it to spread. That means the number of engineers and construction workers will be pivotal. Population density also quickens the contamination rate, giving less time to organize. Sorry, New York City.

Criterion 3: Cure

God forbid your city does get infected, you're going to need a cure, and fast. To do that, your city needs high percentages of the population in the biomedical research and development field.

Criterion 4: Food

Assuming you've walled up your infected metro area, you're going to need to be able to feed the population. To find out what city's equipped, exports in nonperishable food and wholesale goods industries were examined.
