"Start out like you can hold out." This is something my grandmother always said that my parents repeated to me my entire life. I never really understood what it meant, but now that I'm married I get it.

My ex girlfriend and I met when I was dating her ex boyfriend (got that?). I went to a show with him in 2012 and he warned me, "my ex girlfriend will be there." Turns out, she's awesome and we hit it off and chatted all night. A few years later she and I matched on Tinder!

Another was when I discovered my mom's back massager felt really good if you sat on it. "It feels like I'm about to pee!" I even showed the neighbors and we had a lot of fun with it until my mom found out.

When my mom was grocery shopping she would leave me in the arcade at the front of Walmart. They had this one game that was a snow mobile that you rode on and raced around a track. Well, the snow mobile seat vibrated. Needless to say, it was my very favorite game.

saraf45be50781 commented on What Secret Will Your Family Take To The Grave?

I did not find out until I was in my 20s that my Mormon grandparents got pregnant with their first child (my uncle) out of wedlock. There was always some confusion about their anniversary in comparison to my uncle's birthday, but it came out when my grandfather was in the hospital…

saraf45be50781 commented on What Secret Will Your Family Take To The Grave?

A few years ago my mother's cousin was reviewing a census from the 40s that had just been released publicly and came across something interesting. My great-grandparents had listed 5 daughters on the census that year: Leta, age 10, Lila, age 8, Faye, age 6, Gloria, age 4, and Frances,…

saraf45be50781 commented on What's The Funniest Lie You've Ever Told On Tinder?

For several weeks I changed my entire bio on OkCupid and Tinder, along with picture captions, to April Ludgate quotes. I only responded to messages in April Ludgate quotes as well. Only one person got it and the majority of the men continued to try and converse with me like the things…

I did pretty good, but full disclosure, the librarian I work with and I worked on it together. But...we forgot Wyoming. He just kept saying, "what IS that big block? Is that even a state?"

That libraries are dying. They're not dying, they're changing. Also the whole "sexy librarian" trope is really obnoxious.
