10 TV Couples Who Make Us All Believe In Love Again As They Got Back Together After Breaking Up

1. Rachel and Ross from Friends.

If Rachel and Ross weren't the first couple to come to mind when you read the title of this article, I truly don't know what to tell you. These two defined the on-again-off-again relationship, which is to be expected when you and your ex share the same four friends. Ultimately, Rachel got off the plane and found her way back into her Ross' arms, after a few rendezvous', a daughter, and an 18 page letter...FRONT AND BACK.

2. Mindy and Danny from The Mindy Project

While their banter and chemistry were unmatched, these two were toxic AF and proved once again why you shouldn't s#!t where you eat. Did a part of me still root for them? Absolutely. After spending what felt like an entire season convincing Danny to change his views on marriage, Mindy comes to the sudden realization (thanks to the help of a very aggravating Joseph Gordon-Levitt) that marriage isn't a dealbreaker for her. Of course, at this very moment, Danny is sitting in his pregnant girlfriends' parents home in India, mustering up the courage to ask for their daughter's hand in marriage (may want to clear it with her first, but you do you fam). Anyways, they don't get married and breakup instead (shocking, an ultimatum usually works so well), only to reunite at the end of the series after Mindy finds herself in a failed marriage, completely separate from her baby daddy.

3. Haley and Dylan from Modern Family

While I'm definitely #TeamAndy, you have to respect Dylan's hustle to win back his high school sweetheart. The two reconciled early in the Season 10 and welcomed twin babies in the season finale. Why do all these reconciliations result in unplanned pregnancies?! Anyways, these two grew separately only to come together in the end, and while some of Haley's boyfriends *cough* Andy *cough* allowed her to mature past the naive teenager we met in Season 1, she let her heart make the final choice, which is always admirable.

4. Robin and Ted from How I Met Your Mother

Bonus points for choosing your ex's best friend over him, only to end up with him in the end! Robin and Ted were A LOT! Following the same path as Ross and Rachel, the two found themselves contemplating a romantic reunion every once in a while as a result of sharing — and spending all their free time with — the same three best friends. And, while fans were led to believe that the series would wrap with Robin and Barney finding their happily ever after, we quickly learn that Ted has always been in love with Aunt Robin (kind of an extreme way to tell your kids you want to start dating again, but pop off Mosby). We can assume from Cobie Smulders' cameo in the How I Met Your Father finale that the two are still happy together, which I should hope so since that was one roller coaster of a relationship. However, I stand by the fact that someone telling you they love you on a first date is the biggest of red flags.

5. Kelly and Ryan from The Office

Okay, I know what you're thinking, no one saw this relationship and thought they should get back together with your ex. But, I beg to differ! Yes, Kelly was a bit much and Ryan epitomized everything that's wrong with dating a young finance bro, but you know what? They still found their way back to each other. Anyone who said opposites attract, never considered two absolutely wild, selfish individuals who coincidentally worked at the same paper company. If these two can make a relationship work, I'm pretty confident most can. Whether they should is an entirely different conversation. Also, these two are the only glimmer of hope I have for a B.J. Novak/Mindy Kaling relationship and I will hold onto whatever I can.

6. Cece and Schmidt from New Girl

What's worse than someone who cheats on their girlfriend? Someone who cheats on two girlfriends! Schmidt is objectively hysterical, but cheating on Cece — a woman who he was already aware was ridiculously out of his league — was unforgivable. How are women supposed to trust men under these conditions?! Anyways, I can't be too upset that Cece ultimately forgave him, since it brought us the absolute icon that is Ruth Bader Parikh-Schmidt. Still, ladies, gents, and anyone between who's reading this, please don't cheat on your significant others. It isn't that hard.

7. Lexie and Mark from Grey's Anatomy

First off, I'm so sorry for making you relive what I believe to be is two of the top five saddest television deaths of all time. While this argument could be made for literally any couple on Grey's ever, I opted for Lexie and Mark because 1) they were soulmates and we were robbed of their happy ending and 2) they just could never get their s#!t together. After their messy breakup, both parties longed for reconciliation but were too scared to vocalize it. And, of course, it's Grey's, so by the time they did, they were both on their death bed. Let this be a lesson to you: if you love someone, tell them! Don't wait until you're in a plane crash with your daughter's adoptive mother, your best friend and his wife, who also happens to be the half-sister of your dying soulmate, for the love of God!!!!

8. Jane and Rafael from Jane the Virgin

To say these two went through their ups and downs would be the understatement of the century, but hey, it's not a Telenovela for nothing. Unlike other exes on this list, Jane and Rafael's unplanned pregnancy occurred before they even had the opportunity to meet, let alone be exes. The two broke up for a number of reasons, one being Jane ultimately opted to be with the other on-again-off-again man in her life, police officer Michael. While Michael's death (or at least, what we thought was his death) was as traumatic to watch as it was for Jane to experience, it lead her back to Rafael. Would they have gotten back together had Michael been around? Who knows. But, as someone who was #TeamRafael since Season 1, I'm happy to see that these exes worked it out.

9. And finally, Peyton and Lucas from One Tree Hill

If you take one piece of advice from this list let it be this: do not hook up with your best friend's significant other. Or ex significant other. Just, don't do it. It never ends well. Except if you're Peyton and Lucas, who found their happy ending after Lucas bounced back-and-forth between her and Brooke a couple more times, only to end up at the alter with a completely different woman (spoiler alert: they didn't get married). But, Lucas and Peyton did! And they had a baby! And Brooke was there! Tree Hill was a very small town. Alas, they all lived happily ever after, but the two could've just saved everyone the drama and heartache and dated each other in the first place. Needless to say, I wasn't upset when they both jumped ship in season seven.
