Kent-born Naomi Watts is playing the most famous woman in recent British history.
The trailer reveals that the film, which focuses predominantly on the last two years of Diana’s life, will recreate manyof the Princess’s iconic moments, including her 1997 visit to an Angolan minefield wearing a ballistic helmet and flak jacket.
The 1993 visit to Zimbabwe.
Diana, on her first international visit after separating from Prince Charles, was credited with helping to break down the stigma of AIDS after being photographed in close physical contact with sufferers at a hospital in the south African country.
Inevitably, the film also focuses on Diana’s numerous alleged affairs and relationship with the paparazzi media. In this shot Watts is wearing a dress similar to that worn by the Princess of Wales during a state visit to Pakistan in 1991.
