    Promising review: "I dried my face with a white towel and there was not a speck of makeup left on the towel, and I didn't have a drop of mascara raccoon-eye look left on my face. This is the cleanest my face has ever been." —hine0108

    Get it from Amazon for $97.30+ (available in eight colors).

    2. Or silicone facial cleansers for a less expensive option. It's not electric, but it's still amazing, and definitely easier than just relying on your fingers.

    Promising review: "This is awesome. I'm a licensed esthetician and know a thing or two about skincare, but unfortunately, I have such sensitive skin that most exfoliants I've tried really irritate my skin and can end up triggering eczema or psoriasis flares. This is a gentle enough way to exfoliate that gets the job done for me without irritation. As a plus, the massage-like effect it has would aid in microcirculation and probably aid cell turnover (as exfoliation does in general)." —Michael Schiffmiller

While it may not have any specialized benefits, it works well as a general hydrating facial cleanser. Just to be clear, this cleanser isn't meant to remove a full face of heavy makeup — it's meant to be a daily cleanser after makeup removal. Other cleansers have stripped my skin too much and have dried me out, but this one never does. It's really become the core of my skincare routine." —Emi A

    Get it from Amazon for $13.79+ (available in two sizes).

    6. A MakeUp Eraser — a microfiber cloth you just need to run under a little water in order to make taking off your makeup, well, literally like erasing it.

Check out our review of the amazing Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser (#2).

    Promising review: "This cleanser has changed my skin texture from dry and tight to normal and soft. It's very gentle, but it gets rid of my makeup with only one to two pumps. I personally don't wear full faces of makeup, but it does well for getting rid of mascara, brow stuff, blush, etc. It smells great, it's hydrating, and it has a wonderful texture. It does run out within about two to three months if you use it daily and nightly — I'm on my second bottle. Overall, this product is amazing and I highly recommend you purchase it." —MeiMei

    @albabotanica / Via

    This claims to be good for all skin types, including really sensitive skin, too! It aims to gently remove impurities and nourish the skin to leave it feeling nice and smooth!

    Promising review: "I absolutely love this face wash! I suffered with painful acne for a couple years and tried everything from astringents to Proactiv, and even Rodan + Fields. They always made my acne worse and more painful. This stuff, though, has kept my face completely clear for more than a year now. This amazing wash leaves my skin feeling so refreshed. The scent is relaxing and refreshing — it’s not too fragrant, nor does it smell like chemicals. I seriously look forward to using this stuff every day! Also, don’t expect it to smell like pineapples. It’s fruity, but not tropical. This wash also leaves my skin feeling squeaky-clean, so as I wouldn’t call it a drying wash, it is definitely not a moisturizing wash. The wash is a yellowish-clear color, which I think helps my sensitive skin, (no dyes, clogging agents, etc.) I wasn’t paid to write this review. I just hope that someone buys it and loves it as much as I do! Seriously! Skin products are expensive. This is SO worth it (and affordable)." —Gabby

    Get it from Amazon for $8.45.

    9. A cold cream cleanser that is actually 50% moisturizer. So you're taking off your makeup AND moisturizing your face at the same time. We love multi-tasking.

    @ponds / Via

    This cleanser is designed to dissolve all traces of makeup WHILE moisturizing your skin. Plus, it's dermatologist-tested!

    Promising review: "I have very dry skin. I generally tend to go to Macy's for my skincare products, but being on a budget, I decided to give this a try. I'm shocked to tell you that I actually like this cleanser BETTER than my old expensive options. I wipe it on and wipe it off with a wet washcloth. My skin is softer with this stuff than the expensive stuff! No breakouts and no flaky skin! I'll stick to buying the department store brands for eye creams or serums, but for cleansers and cold creams, this stuff wins hands-down! Don't be intimidated by the low price!" —Jessica

    Get it from Amazon for $4.38.

    10. A gentle skin cleanser perfect for those who have to be ultra-careful when it comes to the products they use on their sensitive skin.

    My friends... there aren't words to describe how dang sensitive my skin is. It's kind of frustrating, TBH, because I write about amazing products all day and I want to try ALL of the skincare products, but I literally can't. This is one of the select few skincare products I know I can always rely on. It's truly so gentle, I don't even realize it's on my skin, yet, it makes it feel clean and fresh. I absolutely swear by it, and highly recommend that if you're also in the "my skin is too sensitive for literally anything" boat, that you get on board with this, because it will change your life for the better.

    Promising review: "After years of trying many other brands, I have found this is the ONLY cleanser that does not burn or irritate my sensitive, acne-prone skin. The consistency of this cleanser is that of a thin conditioner and while it doesn't foam, it definitely leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I wash with this every morning and every night before bed. I have tried the store-brand versions of this cleanser and my skin just doesn't feel as clean or soft. If you have very sensitive skin, this cleanser is definitely the way to go!" —Tabitha

    Get it from Amazon for $11.90.

    11. A cleanser that reviewers say is comparable in gentleness to brands like Cetaphil and CeraVe, but does a much better job at actually removing makeup while cleansing.

    @larocheposayusa / Via

    This is infused with prebiotic thermal water, ceramide-3, niacinamide, and glycerin to help your skin feel hydrated. It aims to gently remove eye makeup, dirt, and impurities, while maintaining your skin's natural protective barrier and pH level. It's recommended for normal to dry skin! To use, wet your skin with warm water, work the cleanser into a lather, massage into your skin, rinse, and pat dry. It's safe to use on your eye area!

    Promising review: "This has the same milky, non-foaming texture as Cetaphil and CeraVe, but is visibly better and faster at dissolving makeup and dirt — clean rinsing, no need to 'tissue off,' and no need for 'double cleansing.' Takes literally just a few rubs to breakdown makeup vs. the longer emulsifying time of Cetaphil and CeraVe — neither of which take off mascara very well. But this does the job! Face is left sparkling clean with no reside, but not feeling tight or dry. Innocuous and simple ingredient listing, and reasonably priced. If you like CeraVe/Cetaphil, or 'one-step' moisturizing cleansers, this is up your alley." —nycgirl

    Get it from Amazon for $14.99.

    12. A cleansing water makeup remover that literally FEELS like all you're doing is taking your makeup off with water. Unsure what kind of witchcraft goes into making this.

    Genuinely can't say enough good things about this makeup remover. As mentioned above, I have SUPER sensitive skin. You know the folklore of everything someone touches turning to gold? Well, my own folklore is every product that touches my skin turns it red. Not nearly as cool, or fun, or exciting as gold. I have tried more makeup removers than I can count. I used to use store-brand makeup remover wipes DAILY, with ZERO issue, until one night it just decided to turn against me. I've tried oil-based removers, different kinds of wipes — no success. Micellar Cleansing Water has legitimately changed my life. It literally just feels like I'm cleaning my makeup with water. No irritation, no redness, no itchiness. This stuff is pure magic. I apply a bit to a cotton makeup remover pad, and then just wipe. It takes a total of, like 15 seconds, and then I wash my face. Plus, it lasts FOREVER. You only need a little bit at a time. I've had my bottle for six months now and STILL haven't run out. Trust me, the hype this stuff gets is VERY deserved.

    Promising review: "For most of my adult life, I have gone to bed with my makeup on. By the end of the day, I am just too tired to wash it off. I started using Micellar Water a few months ago because it sounded like it would be quick and easy to use. I was amazed at how well it takes my makeup off! I found that cotton balls aren't big enough, so I found some baby wipes that I had at home, and they worked great! I just put a few squirts of the Micellar Water on the wipe to get it fairly wet. Then I wipe my face really well. I use it on all parts of my face except for my eye lids. I had a bit of an allergic reaction when I used it on my eyes. (This is not uncommon for me because I have a lot of eye allergies.) After I wipe off my makeup, I will sometimes go over my face again with a deep-cleansing toner to see if there is much makeup left. There is usually almost nothing left! There would always be a fair amount of foundation on the cotton ball after cleansing with regular facial cleanser. It takes me only about a minute to clean my face before bed. It is so quick and thorough that I am much more likely to find a minute at the end of the day to wash my face now. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical about using this product at first. Now it is the only product I will use to cleanse my face at night." —Vick1L

You just use them, put them into the washable bag that they come in, and toss them all into the washing machine. They come out pretty clean so you can use them again. It helps me with 99% removal or dirt and foundation on my face. I know this because after I use a toner, there isn’t any discoloration on the cotton ball, which indicates that there is no dirt in my pores. I also love how refreshing this feels on my face. This is a cleanser, toner, AND makeup remover all in one!

    Promising review: "I chose this because it is not full of glycerin (very sticky finish) or silicone (super slippery finish). This has the nice, clean texture of a simple floral water, is virtually scentless, removes make up quite effectively (including eyeliner), and doesn't leave behind an oily residue. I use it daily and this bottled has lasted me seven months! Best of all is the unique bottle and one-handed dispenser: you flip up the lid and simply press the cotton pad across the top. It pumps the liquid upward!" —Rainy Days

It's been allergy-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and is made up of 100% vegan ingredients.

    Promising review: "I used to always tug at my skin with makeup remover wipes because it was so difficult to remove it. Now that I use this balm, I just rub it all over my face and it breaks down my makeup in a matter of seconds and removes most of it with one swipe using a makeup remover!" —Deanna863

    Promising review: "Having sensitive skin, I need washcloths that will not irritate and are as soft as a baby kitten. These washcloths did not fail. Taking them out of the package, they feel so luxurious to the touch. Once putting them through the laundry, they came out even softer! They were so smooth running over my skin and didn’t feel abrasive. I did not have any redness to my skin like others have done. I wish I could find a blanket or robe made out of this material!" —Lynn1230

    19. A deep-cleaning oil that not only does a killer job of taking off makeup, but does a darn good job at nourishing and hydrating skin thanks to vitamin and antioxidant-rich formula.

    @dhcskincare / Via

    This aims to nourish and hydrate the skin. It's made of a unique water soluble formula that rinses thoroughly, and it's rich in vitamins and antioxidants!

    Promising review: "I have been using DHC Cleansing Oil for more than two years now and absolutely LOVE it! One of the reasons I love this cleansing oil is that I no longer need any eye make up remover. I use one pump of this oil and spread it all over my face to include across my eyelids and lashes. Then I rinse with warm water and towel dry. It removes every bit of make-up, without exception, and I don't even need a toner or follow-up. Just to test it out I have used a toner afterwards to see if I have any dirt or make-up residue left and there is NOTHING remaining. I have acne-prone skin, cystic acne to be exact, and this product has helped my skin tremendously. I rarely ever get a cyst and when I do, it is typically hormonal. I'm a product junkie and usually don't stick with a product for long before I start looking for the next best thing. However, once I landed on this product I stayed. I really don't want to try anything else as this is my holy grail of face cleansers. The price point is great and at 47-years-old I feel like I have tried just about everything out there. I just hate that I didn't find this product even sooner. Love it!" —Educ8NC

    Promising review: "I’ve been a long time user of the Vanity Planet spin brush ($39.30). Recently I came across a post about a brush like this (not this exact brand) and they talked about the difference it makes in your cleansing. I felt the spin brush was starting to be harsh on my skin so I found this brush and ordered right away. I love it! My skin feels so clean and smooth and my blackheads and whiteheads are cleared up. I use this brush every night with my acne solutions toner. I use the bristle side all over and the silicone side in my T-zone and flaky areas. Highly recommended." —mrobinson2

I put the clay on my face and it bubbled within 30 seconds of putting it on. Once I got it all over I could hear and feel the bubbles, and watching it bubble up was cool. I couldn't stop laughing! You know it's time to wash it off when it stops bubbling, and taking it off was just as fun as putting it on. It has also left my face feeling soft, and you could see a difference in my face. My skin looked healthier, felt healthier. I did put moisturizer on after because I live in the northeast and right now it's dry and cold and my face is dry, but I don't think I really needed to.
