24 Things To Add To Your Food To Help Make Basically Any Meal Taste Better

Taking your food to the next level has never been so easy.

    1. Mike's Hot Honey for adding the perfect mix of sweet and spicy to just about any food you can think of. Hint: it works especially well with savory foods like chicken, burgers, roasted veggies, and both frozen and fresh pizzas.

    2. Za'atar — an aromatic Middle Eastern spice mix combining flavors like thyme, oregano, marjoram, toasted sesame seeds, and salt. It'll instantly add the mouthwatering flavors of the Mediterranean to an array of foods.

    3. Imitation bacon bits so you can add that smoky, meaty flavor to salads, potatoes, beans, soups, rice, and more! Plus, they're meat-free and certified kosher, and heck of a lot easier than having to actually make bacon and then cut it up into tiny pieces.

    4. Soy sauce for amping up the flavor of ramen noodles, rice, stir fry, meat, seafood, veggies, and homemade sushi — just to name a few!

    5. Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Seasoning that, I for one, could sprinkle on just about anything, including but not limited to avocado toast, eggs, homemade or store-bought bagels, regular toast, pasta — the possibilities are endless with this stuff.

    6. A beer-infused BBQ sauce set for seriously upgrading your BBQ sauce game. And as if the whole beer-infused thing wasn't enough, it comes in three delicious flavors — Sweet & Smokey, Thai Style Sriracha, and Honey Mustard.

    7. A jar of strawberry preserves for spreading on toast, making a "fancier" peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and utilizing for baking. You could even get creative and give savory dishes a sweet kick.

    8. A big bottle of cinnamon that'll last you a while and can be used in tons of different ways. Add a little sprinkle to your morning oatmeal, mix-up your morning coffee with a cup of homemade cappuccino, add some appeal to your fruit by making a baked apple, or whip up a sweet treat for the family like cinnamon sugar donuts or cinnamon rolls.

    9. Red pepper flakes to give your dishes a nice spicy kick without being too overpowering. Ever try red pepper flakes on avocado toast? Do it. You won't regret it.

    10. Sir Kensington's Chipotle Mayo that I can personally tell you is INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. As an avid chipotle mayo fan, I have tried tons of them, heard great things about this one, and now I'll never go back. It can be mixed into rice, eggs, and meat. You can add it tacos, sandwiches, and wraps. Plus, it makes for a great dip for veggies and chips!

    11. Chicken stock — a good idea to keep on-hand for numerous recipes. You can use it to make a wide variety of chicken dishes from scratch, making chicken noodle soup, and instead of using water to make ramen noodles, replace with chicken stock for a more satisfying meal!

    12. And while we're on the subject, beef stock is another great option when it comes to ramen noodles. You can also use it to make French Onion soup (as seen below), and lots of other yummy recipes.

    13. OR if you'd like to give your ramen noodles a creamier consistency, you can try coconut milk! And an overall way to make packaged ramen feel more like a meal? Add vegetables, meat, shrimp, or tofu, and top with an egg!

    14. Garlic powder that allows you to add the pungent, but wonderful flavor of garlic to anything you're eating without needing to keep fresh garlic on hand.

    15. A 5-pound jar of peanut butter — yes you read that correctly — at a great price. Just for reference, if I go into my local grocery store, a jar about a fifth of the size of this one is only a little than half the price. So, yeah, you're welcome.

    16. An organic date syrup that contains less sugar than honey and has a caramel taste, making it great to add to coffee, yogurt, tea, oatmeal, baked treats, and salad dressing recipes!

    17. A seasoning blend you're bound to want to put on everything the first time you try it — we're talking buttered corn (even canned corn!), popcorn, veggies, meat, seafood, tacos, and potatoes.

    18. Freeze-dried chives that'll help eliminate the need for going to the store to buy fresh chives. Whatever you enjoy eating that could use some onion flavor, sprinkle this in! Eggs, potatoes, soups, I mean come on, everything should have onion flavor mixed into it.

    19. Nutella for satisfying that chocolatey hazelnut craving any time it strikes, which rightfully so, might be all the time. Add it to frozen waffles, a peanut butter sandwich, smoothies and milkshakes, toast, or just eat it out of the jar!

    20. Truffle hot sauce that'll basically be the most ~fancy~ hot sauce you've ever tried. It has the spiciness you love in hot sauce, of course, infused with a rich truffle taste. It's like eating at a five-star restaurant, even if you're drizzling it onto a microwaved meal.

    21. Dried basil leaves for giving foods like pasta, meat, poultry, seafood, veggies, salads, and pizzas an Italian taste. Basil truly just makes everything taste... better.

    22. Lemon peel seasoning that'll make it a heck of a lot easier to add the citrusy goodness to both sweet and savory foods than shedding blood, sweat, and tears into grinding by hand. Not being dramatic or anything.

    23. Taco Bell original taco seasoning to jazz up ground beef. Also try it with ground turkey, fish, chicken, seafood, steak, or vegetarian options like tofu and veggies!

    24. Cookie Butter that makes a great alternative to the same ole' spreading peanut butter on bread thing. It's also great for baking, and even better for eating by the spoonful when you want a sweet treat.
