RuPaul's Drag Race UK kicks off tonight!

And don't f*ck it up!
Here are a look at the contestants to get you prepared. Who do you think has the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to win the whole goddamn thing?
Straight out the gate, Viv (I call her Viv) is a definite contender for the first ever UK Drag Race crown. Funny AF, gorgeously gobby, and polished to boot, The Vivienne is a big hit in her hometown of Liverpool, Northern England where she's also a resident DJ. She was crowned the ambassador for Drag Race UK by RuPaul herself back in 2016 so expect big things.

My prediction: Top three EASY, but she'll lose out because the world wants high fashion from its drag queens instead of a good ol' fashioned dragged out mama.
Gothy is doing the damn thing when it comes to her look, but was SUPER boring in her "Meet The Queens" intro. A little Violet Chachki and a little Nina Flowers, the 22-year-old Leicester queen claims to have written the book on drag (or the dissertation at least). I do LOVE a gothy queen, so I'm looking forward to seeing how she'll take on the runway, especially given she has sewing skills – a rare commodity in this batch! AND, she's super hot out of drag – Pearl who?

My prediction: She's got the chops to be a Farrah Moan or an Aquaria type. Her progress in the competition will all depend on her versatility.
Baga Chipz (not a pun) is a London drag scene stalwart who everyone knows for being trashy beyond compare. She's brassy and proud of it, and that's her charm. While she's no Aquaria in the lewks department, I'm hoping Baga comes through with her banter. She's aroused controversy a few times, so it will be interesting to see how she develops her persona for the meticulous drag race republic.

My prediction: She'll rise to the occasion but RuPaul will tire of her lusty cockney madame gig, and maybe we will too. JK, MISS THING! 😜
Y'all know Blu is the mug of the season. The Belfast-based queen has already charmed everyone with her demure confidence and her lovely stories about blue hydrangeas and her beautifully illicit relationship with her boyfriend. I'm excited to see how she performs, given that the Belfast drag scene is super small and Blu is potentially more of a James Charles than a Freddie Mercury. Props to her though for raising awareness around the fight for LGBTQ rights in Northern Ireland 👊.

My prediction: ANY time she needs to do anything that isn't makeup or dressmaking she'll fall hard. Like Trinity in the roast challenges bad.
For being freaky and hairy, Crystal is bringing East London to the masses, henny! In her own words she's not afraid get messy, but I'm sure we'll see her compromise all that punk spirit once or thrice on the show to fit the "RuPaul" mould of drag. She's already dropped her surname – Meth! I do feel like there's a clever high-concept head on those shoulders. She's actually originally from Canada, but if she's all she promises to be, I'd happily let her represent the UK.

My prediction: She could coast along like Dida Ritz or she'll exit early when she refused to shave her chest.
She's non-binary, she's polished, and she's here to talk about what Geri Halliwell is really like. Divina is a strong contender with a what I like to call media-ready persona already under her belt. She can sing and I'm pretty sure she can act too. She's also got some pretty fun looks on her Instragram so I'm hoping she nails the runway too. And that laugh. She's clearly been practising for when she's featured on Willam's next parody song.

My prediction: Top four unless she misses the mark on the runway in Downton Abbey couture week.
Okay I'm really rooting for (Is) Sum Ting Wong because she was endearingly flustered and nervously succinct in her "Meet The Queens" video for BBC Three. Originally from Reading near London... Sum.... is a queen not unlike RuPaul who has used drag to realise her dreams of becoming a singer! She's of British Vietnamese heritage and wanted her name to reflect that but be funny.

My prediction: It's an early exit for Sum when she can't execute the ridiculous choreography required for the Cilla Black musical challenge.
You may have seen Vinegar as Daniel as Sandra Bollock in Everybody's Talking About Jamie on the West End alongside Michelle Visage! So you know she's gonna be bringing those jazz hands to the competition. As Vinegar, I'm getting your favourite whacky teaching assistant does am-dram and loves pinot grigio a little too much vibes. Like Sum Ting Wong, Vinegar carved out a drag persona to enhance another career – acting! I am worried that the buck stops there though.

My prediction: She'll be an early exit with a classic first episode sewing challenge, but if she survives that, her comedy will see her through!
I've seen Cheryl turn it out on stage and she truly could be the lip-sync assassin of this season. She's another London drag scene darling with a degree in dancing – who knew! As an Essex native, Cheryl is gonna bring all the TOWIE glam we need America to see. Fun fact: for the longest time I was under the impression that she was a bio-queen!?

My prediction: If she can pull off a comedy character or drop a stitch, she'll be unstoppable.
One of the youngest ever contestants to step up to the Drag Race franchise may also be the most unstoppable. I mean, she could be anything – she's only been a drag queen for five months (according to Instagram). Originally from Wiltshire in the middle of the Southern English countryside, Scaredy Kat is a student by day, and a cat-inspired drag artist by night. That is, if she ever left her bedroom in full drag – she's yet to perform on stage!

My prediction: She'll run out of steam in the middle of the competition and go home in the Drag Homes Under The Hammer acting challenge.
