24 TV Shows That Were Canceled But Shouldn't Have Been
This is why I have trust issues.
We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to share which TV shows shouldn't have been canceled. The first part had soooo many submissions that we wanted to make another list. Here are 24 more amazing shows that left our screens way too soon.
1. Firefly (2002–03)

"A quirky, unique show, masterfully written and run by Joss Whedon in his prime, with an ensemble cast full of people who would go on to be big in their own right — Nathan Fillion, Morena Baccarin, and Alan Tudyk, just to name a few. The fact that it never even got a full season but was still able to pull in a movie deal should tell you a lot about its quality."
2. Everything Sucks (2018)

"I knew it only had one season going in, but I was still sad when it ended. The young actors were all so good, and it had amazing lesbian representation!"
3. High Fidelity (2020)

"It was so well shot, produced, and edited. The acting was excellent, and the storytelling was absolutely brilliant!! I really wanted more of it."
5. Frequency (2016–17)

"I’m the only person I know who’s even heard of this show, and that’s such a shame. It was interesting and intriguing from start to finish, and you really wanted the main characters to succeed. The only downside is that it ended on a cliffhanger. It should’ve gotten another season."
6. Zoo (2015–17)

"The first two seasons were absolutely amazing, with each episode packed with something new. I always recommend watching only one episode because after that, you're hooked. The third season was definitely different and a little out there, but it had so many twists and turns and was so good. And the cliffhanger it ended on? Are you kidding me?!?"
7. Red Band Society (2014–15)

"The American version had an A+ cast and great storylines. The cliffhanger they left was heart-wrenching, and the show honestly deserved so much more. I, unfortunately, discovered the show way too late, and it plagues me to this day."
8. The Mick (2017–18)

"It was canceled after only two seasons on Fox. The show had a unique and refreshing storyline. Kaitlin Olson killed that role and showcased her natural ability to make people laugh until they cry. For me as a woman, it was nice to watch a comedy show led by three strong, hilarious women. Then Fox canceled it. It deserves so much more recognition. I suggest that everyone watch it on Hulu."

9. United States of Tara (2009–11)

"The acting was amazing, and the story was unlike anything else on TV. The ending was so abrupt, it kind of ruined the show."
10. The Secret Circle (2011–12)

"I fell in love with the characters, the drama, and the story of Season 1, only for them to leave us on a cliffhanger that would never be resolved!! It was cut horribly short and had so much potential!"
11. Bad Judge (2014–15)

"I know real judges and lawyers hated it because they felt like the character Rebecca diminished the integrity needed by someone in that profession. But I think it’s similar to how in The Office, no boss should actually be like Michael Scott, but he’s still funny and, quite frankly, a lovable character. That said, the show was incredibly funny and relatable, and I got really invested in Rebecca and Gary’s love story."
12. Shadowhunters (2016–19)

"Sure, they did manage to end the show pretty well, but it had so much more potential that was just wasted. More storylines based on Cassandra Clare’s novels could have been amazing!"
13. Chasing Life (2014–15)

"It was such a good show but got canceled after two seasons. They rushed through the second season to try and wrap up the story too."
14. Friends From College (2017–19)

"Great cast. Hilarious. Fred Savage was, well...savage. I was so bummed to see that one go."
15. The River (2012)

"It was such a great show and had Lost potential."
16. People of Earth (2016–17)

"It deserves to be mentioned. If you've never seen it, it was a TBS comedy about a group of abductees ('experiencers') and the aliens who abducted them. It was hilarious, well-acted, sweet, and so perfect. TBS canceled it after its second season, which ended on a particularly exciting cliffhanger. The third season was written, and I will always be sad and pissed that I didn't get to see it get resolved."
17. Kidding (2018–20)

"It had Jim Carrey and was one of his best performances in years. The storyline was the perfect blend of comedy, sadness, and real life. Just a great show."
18. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016–17)

"The first season was brilliant. It's been called the unspoilable show because I could tell you the ending right now and it wouldn't make a lick of sense; you have to watch it to believe it!"
19. Better Off Ted (2009–10)

"I feel like nobody ever remembers this show, but it was SO funny, and it ended in a really frustrating place in the relationship between some of the characters."
20. Siren (2018–20)

"It was one of Freeform's best shows and ended on a HUGE cliffhanger. Now we’ll never know what happens at the end. I'm still angry."
21. The Mysteries of Laura (2014–16)

"A perfect 'will they, won’t they' detective show that was left on an awful cliffhanger! It was so frustrating!"
22. Dark Matter (2015–17)

"I binged it this year via Amazon Prime and was DEVASTATED when it ended on a major cliffhanger. It was such a great show with a lot of familiar themes, but done with innovation and realistic interpersonal relationships."
23. Stargate Universe (2009–11)

"They left off with the largest cliffhanger. I will forever be upset about not finding out what happens to Eli and the rest of the crew. I know they made a comic to sort of finish it off, but even that had its problems, since it didn't come out regularly."
24. And finally, Hindsight (2015)

"This show was so good, and it ended on such a cliffhanger. VH1 renewed it for a second season and then shut it down right as it was going into production. I wish Netflix had picked it up."
