Ever since Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma started dating in 2014, the Indian media has tried to find ways to link their relationship to his on-field performances.

Twitter: @dna

The trolling has not ended even after the two broke up earlier this year.

Thanks @AnushkaSharma Ji, India will win #T20WC only because of you.

It is certified that #anushkasharma jisko chod de vo kamaal karta hai! Pehle #ranvirsingh ab #viratkohli both are reaching heights #IndvsAus

Well, Kohli has finally had enough and he just instagrammed a picture saying "Shame", followed by a very powerful message to everyone trying to connect the two.

Kohli wrote, "Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And I don't need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public. #nocompassion #nocommonsense"

He shared the same message on Twitter.

Shame on people for trolling @AnushkaSharma non-stop. Have some compassion. She has always only given me positivity
