Bollywood's Biggest Actresses Confessed All The Sexist Shit They've Put Up With

"The kind of money Varun Dhawan and John Abraham got for Dishoom is way more than Kareena and I are getting for Veere Di Wedding." – Sonam Kapoor

It's no secret that sexism is a very real problem that even Bollywood's A-list female actors face on a daily basis.

Film Companion's Anupama Chopra recently uploaded a compilation of some of Bollywood's biggest actresses talking about the sexism they've faced in the industry:

The things they've had to listen to range from being told that they only need to focus on their looks...

To being told that actresses are replaceable.

Some of the sexism they face is on a smaller, but equally insulting, scale.

Richa Chadha, who wasn't even 25 when she made her debut, talked about being typecast as a mother even before her first film released.

And, of course, there's the all too real wage gap.

Sonam Kapoor summed up the situation perfectly.
