It revolves around a cult and the mysterious main character, Minnow Bly, who grew up in it.
The cult in question is the fictitious Kevinians, who followed a man named Kevin out into the wilderness 12 years before the show starts.
This was Kevin. He believed himself to be a prophet.
His cultists were downtrodden trailer park residents to whom he gave hope and a sense of belonging.
While the world had turned its back on them, Kevin and his god, Charlie, thought they were worthy of something greater.
This is what's left of the Kevinians by the start of the show:
Minnow is the only known survivor of the cult. When we first meet her, she's on her way to juvie.
You can DEFINITELY tell she was in a cult.
We have a lot of questions.
Some other interesting things to note: The show is based on the book The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes, which is actually a modern interpretation of the Brothers Grimm story The Girl Without Hands.
The show is written, produced, and run by Raelle Tucker.
And the production company behind it is Blumhouse, so you know we're in for some scary, mind-bending twists and turns.
May Charlie bless us with some answers!
