On Friday, Sonja Durham sadly passed away from stage IV cancer.
Sonja was a wife, dog lover, and Lady Gaga's longtime friend of almost a decade.
She was also the inspiration behind Gaga's song "Grigio Girls."
Just last month, Gaga dedicated her "Edge of Glory" Coachella performance to Sonja.
Once the news had been shared that Sonja had passed, Gaga posted this heartfelt tribute to her friend on Instagram.
Gaga said, "Thank you Sonja for inspiring me and all of us everyday with your joy."
"It brings tears to my eyes just to think of all the years we've spent together backstage running the show, taking care of each other."
"I love you girl," Gaga said, ending her post. "I love you so much."
