Really, Eminem?

In the song, he uses a homophobic slur to diss Tyler, who has tweeted that he's gay and alluded to identifying as gay in his lyrics.

Obviously, people were not happy about Eminem using the F- word in his diss. One of those people was the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, Dan Reynolds.

He took to Twitter to call out Eminem:

it’s never ok to say a word that is filled with hate. I don’t care what year you were born in or what meaning it has to you. if it contributes to hate and bigotry then it is hateful. period. there is never an ok time to say the word fa**ot I don’t care who you are.

Ok, first of all, good for him. Like, I feel like standing up to Eminem isn't the easiest task:

People rallied around Dan and were definitely here for his call-out:

@DanReynolds it’s terrible because whenever I hear someone say it and I confront them about it the usual response is, “oh I don’t mean it like that I’m just joking”. that is absolutely unacceptable. they must learn that these “jokes” cause destruction. enough is enough.

@ava27448048 @maddielarson123 @DanReynolds those words are slurs that have been used to oppress groups of people for like all of time. it’s not so much as people just being offended by random words that hold no power, those slurs have been used as power over people and they still have power when people use them like that

Thank you standing up for what's right, Dan. We stan a gay icon.
