19 Things I've Learned Watching Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is filled with amazing facts, information and mind-blowing ideas about our world and universe. Here are nineteen things I've learned watching so far this year.

    Life Is Meaningless.

    Seriously, Life is Meaningless.

    Nothing We Do Matters.

    History Will Remember No One.

We Will Never Truly Know Why We Even Exist.

Which Is Fine, Because Nothing We Do Matters And Life Is Meaningless.

To The Universe, You're No Different Than This Beetle.

Let Me Say It Again, Your Life Is As Meaningful As This Beetle's.

If Somebody Asked The Universe, "Hey Universe, Should We Kill This Person Or This Beetle?" The Universe Would Shrug And Kill Both Of You.

And Nobody Would Miss Either Of You.

But Don't Misinterpret That As Me Saying There Is A God Who Makes Decisions Or Decides Who Lives And Dies.

Because There Is Absolutely Not A God.

Because Every God Damn Thing We Know Is Completely And Utterly Random.

    This Beautiful Sunset? Random.

    This Collection Of Stars? Random.

Even This God Damn Beetle Is Random. Just Like Me, You And Every Other Thing Ever.

Remember That Thing You Did Recently You Were Really Proud Of? The Cosmos Is So Big, It Is Basically Like It Didn't Happen.

Because, And Let Me Just Say It Again So Even The People In The Cheap Seat's Hear It, Life Is Meaningless And Nothing We Do Matters.

But Bears Are Still Cool As Hell.
