This Is What It Would Look Like If Dev Patel Was Cast As Spider-Man In "The Avengers"

Make this a thing, make this a thing, make this a thing!

Meet Peter Parker, he's just a nerdy high school kid from Queens.

That is, until he's bitten by a radioactive spider.

Peter starts noticing some changes. He realizes he's become super agile and can cling to walls. He starts messing around with designing a suit.

He's basically Iron Man's biggest fan. Pete wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

Things don't go so well at first...

Slowly, but surely, though, the kid starts getting the hang of this whole costumed wall-crawling thing.

He even starts messing with muggers. Pete's having a blast.

Until reality catches up with him real quick.

His uncle is gunned down by a mugger Peter let get away. All of a sudden, messing with crime-fighting isn't all fun and games.

He smartens up and takes a job at a newspaper in Manhattan. The job sucks, but it's a paycheck.

And gives him some time to start putting his powers to use, fighting low-level street crime.

He's still messing with super science, though.

He's got a makeshift lab out in an abandoned warehouse in Brooklyn. He builds robots and is working on a synthetic spider web material that lets him swing from building to building.

Everything's going pretty well until one day Manhattan starts exploding. A team of masked heroes led by Iron Man start fighting their way through midtown.

And it doesn't look like things are going well.

He's watching it all from his office.

Until he can't sit back and watch anymore.

And finally swings into the fray.

He does his best fighting his way through the city, trying to leave the big guys to The Avengers.

He's just trying to make sure civilians get to safety.

But he's young and inexperienced and can't save everyone.

And things go real wrong, real fast.

It haunts him. He wants to finally give up any dreams of being a superhero.

Until he gets a visitor...

And he finds out things aren't as over as he thought they'd be. SHIELD knows he's been messing with super science and they know he was the masked vigilante saving people during the battle in Manhattan.

So he makes the best of a bad situation and joins the Avenger Initiative.

Which doesn't go great at first.

But he gets some science bros bonding time with Tony.

And pretty quickly, he's part of the team, even if they still treat him like a kid. I mean, Thor's like 4,000 years old so...

Doesn't this just feel RIGHT to you?

Plus, it might be handy to have an Avenger on the streets of New York...

Well, until Civil War, I guess.

Dev Patel for Spider-Man, make it a thing, Marvel!
