The worst of the flooding has stopped in Colorado, but the region has been torn apart by surging water.
Some Coloradans were able to kayak through their towns.
And some attempted to.
They suited up to brave the weather.
Hoping to splash in puddles before things got worse.
Before rising waters and mud swallowed 17 different counties of Colorado.
Some Coloradans quickly jumped at the chance to help as the rain cleared.
And for some the flooding made travel impossible.
And, well, some decided to make the best of not being able to get anywhere...
And a surprising amount of Coloradans braved the rain to say "I do."
More than 11,000 Coloradans were evacuated.
And over 1,000 residents lost their homes.
They got muddy.
And are now trying to rebuild and salvage what's left.
