Everyone knows that as Australia separated from Pangea, and later Gondwanaland, it became a continent rich with unusual fauna found nowhere else! Behold, a list of creatures that'll either creep you out, take you back to your childhood, or intrigue you because they're just plain... weird.
Just as Dorothea Mackellar once penned to paper words that would become a poetic emblem of our "sunburnt country", Australians are all too aware of how magnificent our natural (and urban) landscapes are. And the one thing we (probably) all have in common? The desire to take in its formidable beauty by land, sea and in the air. Here are the first two stanzas from Mackellar's iconic poem.
Killin' it in Coogee and Babin' in Bondi. Yaas darling. Yaas. These ladies and gents are so hot they must be able to survive no other Summer than in Sydney. Make way Melbourne, a new crop of fashionistas is in town.
