Cartoon Network Shows You May Have Forgotten About

We know YTV, we know Disney but Cartoon Network was also THE hub for shows as we were growing up. Here's some for a quick blast to the past. Written by Madi Wong, Writer/Blogger for RU Student Life

    Ben 10

    My Cartoon Box / Via

Ok, but how cool was this concept? For those who have never seen Ben 10 or forgot the plot, this ten year old boy had a watch-like device that could magically turn him into ten different alien superheroes. The watch was like having the ability to choose a different super power each time. Who didn't love this ten year old battling villains?

    Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

    Cartoon Network

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was one of the most wholesome shows that I think I have ever watched in my entire life.

The show was about a foster house for imaginary friends that kids outgrew them. I remember immediately loving each and every one of the characters and the fact that it always brought me laughs and emphasized friendship.

    Dexter's Laboratory

    Cartoon Network

This kid Dexter was always on one. Mind you, he was a genius in the show but he used to annoy the heck out of my brother and I growing up.

The show however, was pretty popular. Dexter was always coming up with crazy, game changing inventions in his lab with his sister—all while going to school and trying to be a kid.

    Teen Titans

    Cartoon Network

Teen Titans has COMPLETELY rebranded now for kids these days but growing up, the classic Teen Titans was on repeat almost every day in my household.

The OG quintuple: Robin, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg and Beast Boy will forever hold a special place in my heart. They all had crazy cool powers and abilities to fight crime, defeat villains.

Side note: who else played the Teen Titans game on the Gamecube growing up?

    Totally Spies

    Cartoon Network

Totally Spies was one of my favourite shows growing up because of this badass, all female trio.

If you know, you know. It was always thrilling to watch Alex, Sam and Clover fight crime and save the world. And how cool would it be to actually be a spy instead of drowning in readings at Rye? We can only dream.

    Johnny Test

    Johnny Test

I don't know who I loved more, the Johnny Test or THE Dukey. These two always brought a good smile to my face after school.

If dogs could talk, I would want them to be as dope as Dukey.

    Total Drama Island

    Cartoon Network

I honestly blame this show for my current obsession to reality TV shows like The Bachelor/Bachelorette and Big Brother.

This was one of those shows I would stay up late to watch—considering it was not always the most appropriate show to watch for kids.

This series had teens compete in extreme challenges while vying for the $100,000 grand prize. Every three days, one person would be eliminated and walk down the 'Dock of Shame.'

    Ed, Edd n Eddy

    Cartoon Network

Even if you have never watched this show, I'm sure you'll remember the theme song.

Ed, Edd and Eddy were three mans just trying to figure out their lives—aren't we all? The show followed these three on their summertime adventures with jobs, relationships and more.

    My Gym Partner's a Monkey

    Cartoon Network

Imagine walking into Ryerson but instead of a TRSM student in a business student on one side of you and an an undeclared arts students decked out in Urban Outfitters on your other side—you're surrounded by wild animals.

This, is basically what our guy Adam Lyon went through in this show after being registered to an all-animal school. It was always entertaining to see how a small human being befriended a monkey and other animals like gorillas and fish.

    The Powerpuff Girls

    Cartoon Network

    Choose your fighter: I'm Buttercup.

These three sisters, created by professor Utonium were fiesty and I loved every bit of them. From defeating evil Mojo Jojo to solving other crimes around the city—they were always, dare I say a POWERFUL trio.
