Nizwa Fort

Not only one of the premier Nizwa attractions, but of Oman as well, the 17th century Nizwa Fort is a must visit site. Featuring a cylindrical main tower and ancient Omani design styles, this fort offers lots to explore along with showcasing fascinating artefacts and exhibits.

Bahla Fort

Oman’s only fort to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic Bahla Fort is massive to say the least. Constructed with mud-brick walls, it features ancient mosques and towers well worth exploring.

Al Jabal Al Akhdar

Known as the “Green Mountain”, Al Jabal Al Akhdar is part of the awe-inspiring Al Hajar Mountains. 2,980 metres in height and home to Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, this famed mountain is known for its wide plateau that can be found near the summit and lush green pockets where crops are grown.

Jebal Shams

With its peak reaching heights of just above 3,000 metres, Jebal Shams boasts the Arabian Peninsula’s highest peak. Known as the ‘Sun Mountain’, it offers some stunning panoramas including that of the Wadi Ghul which is referred to as Arabia’s Grand Canyon.
