A satirical article on Policy Mic reporting that Ron Paul is abandoning his hands-off foreign policy has sparked an outcry in the comments from Paul fans.
The story leads with a startling revelation: “In a dramatic reversal of policy, Texas Congressman Ron Paul has announced he will support a preemptive strike on Iran, along with the return of U.S. troops to Iraq, a never-ending war on Islam, and a CIA-led Cuba Spring if elected president in 2012.”
In the comments, Paulites aren’t getting the joke.
The post’s author is doing his best to defend the article’s inaccuracy in the comments.
The incident ended in victory for Ron Paul nation: because of the outrage coming out of the comments, the article’s headline was changed to reflect that it’s satire.
