The Laughing Joe meme goes all the way back to 1904.
In a poem by Palmer Cox in the June 15, 1904 edition of the Sydney Mail, “Laughing Joe” is a “great philosopher / Lived years and years ago; / And such a merry soul was he / They called him Laughing Joe.”
This is the new version of Laughing Joe, inspired by Vice President Joe Biden’s laugh-filled debate last night:
- Dozens of employees and patients say the US's biggest psychiatric chain locks up people for insurance money.
- "I do like him. I love getting his ideas." Donald Trump says he's asked President Obama for advice on cabinet appointments.
- Airline confirms there are no survivors in crash of passenger plane in Pakistan that was carrying at least 47 people.
- Donald Trump was named Time's "Person of the Year" and people immediately started making memes.
