Massachusetts senator John Kerry would bail out Massachusetts congressmen John Olver and Jim McGovern, who were arrested protesting outside the Sudanese embassy with George Clooney today — but he wouldn’t bail Clooney out, if he had to choose two out of three.
In response to a Boston Phoenix reporter’s joke question, Kerry said on Twitter that he would bail out both congressmen but seek pardon for Clooney:
@dbernstein Bail 4 reps (so many congressman in jail already) and pardon 4 GC— John Kerry (@JohnKerry) March 16, 2012
Clooney won’t need Kerry’s pardon, as he’s already been released.
