Everyone kept telling us we'd be too tired (my mom wouldn't stop telling me about how her and my dad were too tired their wedding night). We decided we had to prove everyone wrong. We were exhausted, a little drunk, but we made it happen!

It's really sad that we've created such a culture of shame around sex. My husband and I had sex the first time we met, I'm not ashamed of that or of anyone else I had sex with after a first date. I really wish we could sever the cultural association of guilt with sex.

Treat them like an actual person who isn't made of glass. While I was getting divorced so many people thought I couldn't possibly handle seeing happy couples, or they would try to downplay their own happiness for my benefit. It made me feel awkward, not supported.
