Can We Take A Moment To Acknowledge How Creepy Kid's Shows Were In The '90s?

Because we are still afraid of the dark...

The '90s were a great time to be a kid.

And while the decade had plenty of cheesy shows, it also had a hell of a lot of creepy ones.

    There was Aaahh! Real Monsters!

A show about three dump-dwelling monsters, one of which is clearly a pubey scrotum? The kids'll love it!

    Goosebumps...

Goddammit, Carly Beth! What have you become?!

and Are You Afraid of the Dark?

The answer is yes. Because of this show, yes.

Do you remember Bump in the Night?

This was a Saturday morning cartoon. Children were expected to wake up actually wanting to see these globular horrors.

Legends of the Hidden Temple temple guards haunted kids dreams...

A game show where children compete to race through a rickety building and avoid being caught by grown men hiding in the darkness. What a fucking metaphor.

and Beakman's World made science nauseating.

What demon child found execs and said, "Guys, the only feasible way for me to learn science, is if it's yelled at me by a giant man in a rat suit"?

    With shows like So Weird...

We all wanted to be Fiona... just without any of those spooky-ass responsibilities.

    and Eerie, Indiana...

    Sweet Tobey Maguire's ghost!

it's a miracle we got any sleep before Y2K.

    So, what do you think?
