Portrayed by Timothee Chalamet, AJ is the resident bad boy. His father was a serpent who was banished from Riverdale in the early '90s. AJ came back to Riverdale with his mother during his senior year and befriended the main four. He flirts relentlessly with Veronica and is on Archie's bad side. Later, it is revealed that AJ is Jughead's cousin and his father, Adam Afferknitter, is FP's younger brother.

Michael Evans Behling plays Carter Vanson, a former Ghouly who lost his best friend to a heist-gone-wrong. After losing his friend, he leaves the Ghoulies and enrolls in Riverdale High where he is found by Archie. Archie takes him under his wing as one of his fighters and feels guilty when Carter gets badly injured during a fight. Towards the end of the season, Carter witnesses a murder and is nearly beaten to death.

Whitney, played by Zendaya, is a tom-boy with a curious nature. She puts out a strong front but deep down she is a total softy. Whitney is secretly in love with Betty but knows she can never have her so she takes out her frustration by solving crimes and fighting alongside the Pretty Poisons. Later in the season, Whitney accidentally kills Ethel after Ethel finds out about Whitney's crush.

Whitney Valentino

Brooklyn, played by Arden Cho, is a preppy cheerleader who wants nothing to do with the drama her bff Cheryl is in. She just wants to study, cheer, and get into Harvard. This all changes when her boyfriend is killed mysteriously so she becomes a vigilante by night.
