The 26 Stages Of Online Dating
But you wouldn't know anything about that. Right?
You're in a committed relationship with someone you met in the real world. As far as you're concerned online dating is for losers.
But then it all goes wrong.
You're left with only the echoes of your cries for company.
After a period of going out and trying to have sex with everything...
...your friends start to talk to you about how much success they've had online.
And they go on, and on, and on.
Until you've got no choice, and finally give in.
So you wait for the messages to start rolling in.
After a few false starts, you find someone who you seem to get on with, and arrange to meet up.
Though this seems like a great idea at first, when they day comes you start to have doubts.
And there's only one way to deal with it.
You arrive at the venue, and make the awkward "Where are you?" call.
You finally see them and get really excited, but quickly become conscious of other people spotting it's a first date.
There will inevitably be awkward conversation at first.
But once you've had a drink (or three).
You realise that you're actually having a nice time.
And at the end of the night you say your goodbyes and begrudgingly tell your friends that they were right.
In fact after being so worried about the stigma, you now can't stop talking to people about it.
Of course, some dates will be better than others.
Don't rule out the possibility that their profile picture was 10 years old and everything isn't quite as you expected.
These dates can cause you to lose faith.
But more often than not, you'll get on really well — you must have started talking for a reason.
Just remember to play it cool.
But if the worst happens and you find yourself back where you started.
You can just start all over again.
