Two years ago we asked BuzzFeed UK to try to label the US states to celebrate Thanksgiving. A year later we thought we'd give it another go to see if things had improved (they hadn't).
So now, as we take the plunge for the third year in a row, asking Brits to make fools of themselves with maps is as much a part of Thanksgiving as lying on the sofa in a turkey coma. As ever, we're really, truly sorry...
1. Firstly, a reminder that before you call yourself a "state-naming genius" you should check that you definitely don't have two Utahs.
2. While this person proved that if you call enough places NYC then you'll probably get one of them right. Eventually.
3. The central states caused a few problems.
4. OK, maybe more than a few.
5. Not for this person, however, who correctly identified "Chef".
6. There were many applaudable efforts.
7. And, inevitably, there were some truly piss-poor efforts as well.
8. When in doubt, list a shitload of TV shows .
9. Or just scribble "FREEDOM" down somewhere in the middle in the hope that any American readers will get too patriotic to become angry.
10. This person was the only one who remembered "StateBob Squarepants".
11. Though almost everyone correctly identified California, Texas, and Florida.
12. Note to other states: If you want to be remembered, be a more interesting shape!
13. On the whole it seems like Britain is certainly getting the hang of of this whole America thing.
14. Though the Dakotas are still liable to cause a problem.
15. And according to this person, northern Michigan doesn't exist. Sorry guys.
16. Oddly, this was one of the most accurate entries.
17. While this person was so concerned with where Miami is that they failed to realise that Miami isn't actually a state.
18. According to some people Canada's invasion of the northern states is well under way.
19. This person has a truly impressive knowledge of the states. Shame they have zero idea where any of them are located.
20. Whereas this person clearly just got bored and started listing herbs.
21. And if all else fails, have such illegible handwriting that no on can tell if you're right or wrong.
