Over this past week, residents of Montauk, NY have been getting arrested by local police, for protesting Government plans to put up a Sandbag wall on one of their public beaches.
Montauk's Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell believes constructing this Sandbag Wall on one of their public beaches is the best "Short-Term Solution" to protect the town's hamlet from flooding in case of a hurricane.
The Army Corps were recently given the OK to begin construction on one of the public Montauk Beaches. Many residents though believe this will result in losing one of their most prized beaches, which could drastically affect the whole Montauk community.

The Protesting began on Friday November 6th, following the town hall meeting where Larry Cantwell claimed that nothing could be done.
