"Balance" Is Bullsh!t

It doesn't exist. You can't find it. Embrace imbalance and find freedom.

This obsessive, relentless search for "balance" is contrary to the state of nature as scientific observation indicates our bodies, life as we know it, the planet we live on and the universe itself are not and never have been in "balance."

All of life as we know it

All life on earth, from dinosaurs to humans, amoebas to redwoods is made of left-handed molecules. This is called the "chirality of life" from the Greek word χειρ (kheir) meaning "hand." There may well be right-handed life out there, but we have yet to find it

The entire Universe

The big bang should have created equal amounts of matter and antimatter in the early universe. But today, everything we see from the smallest life forms on Earth to the largest stellar objects is made almost entirely of matter. There is not much antimatter to be found. Something must have happened to tip the balance.

One of the greatest challenges in physics is to figure out what happened to the antimatter, or why we see matter/antimatter asymmetry.

If matter and antimatter are created and destroyed together, it seems the universe should contain nothing but leftover energy. Nevertheless, a tiny portion of matter – about one particle per billion – managed to survive.

There is a word for that - imbalance.
