R2-D2 Visits Nasa Astronaut Rick Mastracchio On The ISS For Star Wars Day Promo

Star Wars Day is celebrated on May 4.

1. We’re fast approaching Star Wars Day, May 4, and Nasa and Star Wars decided to team up to create a short YouTube clip promoting the day.

The video sees R2-D2 being told of a treacherous plot by the Empire to stop Nasa delivering a May 4 message.

2. Having spotted an astronaut, the Star Wars robot begins his mission.

3. He flies off to the International Space Station, where Nasa flight engineer Rick Mastracchio is trying to deliver the Star Wars Day message.

4. Mastracchio starts experiencing technical problems, no doubt the work of the evil Empire.

5. However, R2-D2 soon fixes the problem - allowing the astronaut to say to “everyone on Earth from the International Space Station, May The Fourth be with you”.

6. Happy (upcoming) Star Wars Day.
