Last month police in Burnley also took to Twitter to make a joke about a cannabis discovery.

Anyone lost a huge amount of cannabis in the Burnley area? Don't panic, we found it! Pop in to the station to collect it.. #we'rewaiting

And in March, Manchester police left an "unfortunately you were not at home" note after kicking in the door of a house in Worsley and discovering 72 cannabis plants.

We've kicked in a door in Worsley, got 72 cannabis plants, nobody home. Left a note. GMP, keeping you in the loop.
