British Banker Appears In Court Charged With Murdering Two Women In Hong Kong

Two women were found dead at Rurik Jutting’s home; one was discovered in a suitcase on the balcony.

A British banker has appeared in court charged with murder after two women were found dead in his apartment in Hong Kong.

One of the women was reportedly found with knife wounds to her neck and buttocks. The other was found wrapped in a carpet and placed in a suitcase on the balcony.

Jutting, 29, appeared before the Eastern Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A statement by Hong Kong police said officers had arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the murder of two women.

According to ITV, a spokesman for Bank of America Merrill Lynch confirmed that Jutting worked at the bank until recently.

The Foreign Office said in a statement: "We can confirm that a British national has been arrested in Hong Kong.

"We are in touch with the local police and stand ready to provide consular assistance."
