Our Top 10 RGU Achievements Over The Last Four Years!

RGU’s graduation ceremonies will be held at His Majesty’s Theatre throughout the week as we say goodbye to the class of 2017. Many of our undergraduates arrived at RGU in 2013. During their time with us RGU has achieved so much and we would like to share our achievements over the last four years! Here’s what happened while they were here! Prince Harry Visit

In 2016 Prince Harry showed off his sporting skills during a visit to RGU on his first official trip to Aberdeen to learn about some of the vital work being done by a number of the city’s leading youth development projects, including RGU Streetsport, which was recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service!

We won GOLD! In June 2017 we were awarded a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework for the quality of our undergraduate teaching and learning!

RGU ranked as a top UK university for graduate employability!

It was good news for our graduates as in 2016 RGU was ranked as a top UK university for graduate employability with a rate of 96.5% or over for the fifth year running based on information collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency. We were also ranked first for graduate prospects in the 2017 Guardian University Guide.

On April 1st 2014 RGU made a big splash on April Fools Day as we launched our new hovercraft service to ferry students, staff and Aberdeen residents along the River Dee.

In 2013 the state-of-the-art DART oil rig simulation suite officially opened! It is located within the Sir Ian Wood Building and represents a joint-venture between RGU and KCA Deutag Drilling Limited.
